Willie Dean Huskey

Willie Dean Huskey, 79, of 100 Buckson Street, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in Spartanburg Medical Center.

Husband of Mrs. Lizzie Tate Huskey, he was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late Doc and Gertrude Lindsey Huskey Graham.

He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Willie was a graduate of Granard High School and a retired employee of Cherokee Finishing Company. He was the owner of the former Pettytown Grocery Store. Willie was an avid gardener, fisherman, and hunter.

In addition ot his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Mrs. Lillie Harris (Weldon), Jimmy Huskey, Hervin Huskey, and Charles Huskey.

He leaves to cherish precious memories: his devoted wife, Mrs. Lizzie Huskey, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Regina Byrd (John) of Simpsonville, SC; two sons, Dean Bradley Huskey and Hervin Duran Huskey, both of Gaffney; five grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, 2:00 p.m., in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with The Reverend Darrell Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

He will be in state in the church Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Sarah Pride Hill

Mrs. Sarah Pride Hill, 93, 117 Cedarwood Drive, Jonesville, SC, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019, in her home.

Widow of Tommie Hill, Sr., she was born in Jonesville and was a daughter of the late Mary Etta Pride and Willie Fernandez.

After graduating from Sims High School, she attended Benedict College and later, graduated from Waverly Beauty School in Columbia.

Survivng are: 3 sons, Tommie Hill, Jr., and Jacob Hill (Dorothy), of Spartanburg, Esau Hill (Deborah), of Jonesville; 2 daughters, Bivian Gilliam (Ruben) of Enoree and Betty Glen of Spartanburg; several grandchildren, including Missy Hill, raised in the home.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 27th, 2:00 p.m., in Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. James Williams and Rev. Steven Brown. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hill will be in state in the church Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.

Marilyn Delores Smith

Mrs. Marilyn Delores Smith, 76, of Dogwood Drive, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019, in her home.

Wife of Eugene Smith, Sr., she was born in Jamaica, L.I., NY and was a daughter of the late Michael and Katherine Eason Lainge.

She was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Smith, Jr.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: her husband, Eugene Smith, Sr. of the home; a son, Tracey Lee Smith (Maureen), of Greenville, NC; two daughters, Pamela G. Smith (Tim) and April Littlejohn (Nelson), all of Gaffney; two brothers, Steve Eason (Agnes) f Central Islip, NY, and Errol Jones (Evalina) of Boston, MA; three sisters, Wendy Jones, of Raleigh, NC, Anita Steward of Boston, MA, and Sandra Bruwell (Jeff), of Central Islip, NY; seven grandchildren, Courtney Tate, Timothy Smith, Jr., Trishada Tate, Princetta Smith, Mikayla Lockhart, Shemar Smith, and Joy Smith; eight great grandchildren, Adarion Tate, Jameria Dawkins, Jamarion Dawkins, Tre Tre Tate, Braylon Harris, Jerimiah Harris, Savion Smith, and Mariah Smith.

The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2:00 p.m., in Island Creek Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Timothy L. Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. She will be in state in the church Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
