Mozelle Burris Reid, 73, of 1215 N. Limestone St., was called to eternal rest on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013.

Widow of Pharisee Reid, she was born in York County and was a daughter of the late William Boyd and Martha Carter Burris. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and attended Pine Grove Baptist Church in Blacksburg.

Mrs. Reid was also preceded in death by a son, William Cayce Reid.

Surviving are a son, Roger Burris of Charlotte, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, including Mary and Joseph Lindsay and Kayden Reid, raised in the home; three brothers, John David Wilson of York, Elise Wilson and Richard Carter (Loretta) of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Burnice Bowman of Charlotte and Mae Frances of Virginia.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Van Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She will lie in state in the church Saturday from 1-2 p.m.

The family is at the home of her granddaughter, Elizabeth Reid Lindsay, 1215 N. Limestone St.
