Annette Mitchem Tate

25p1Annette Mitchem Tate, 72, of Gaffney, was called to eternal rest on Saturday, March 7, 2015, in Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.

She was the widow of Rev. L.T. Tate and was born in Cherokee County. She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Geneva Huskey Mitchem.

Annette was a 1962 graduate of Granard High School and a retired employee of Milliken. She was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church and former First Lady of Shiloh Baptist Church in Pauline.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Carolyn, Ossie and Lorena Mitchem.

Surviving are a son, André Tate (Tawanna) of Gaffney; two brothers, Herbert Mitchem Jr. (Cynthia) of Charlotte, N.C., and Cleve Mitchem (Rebecca); two sisters, Mamie Holmes (Chris) of Gaffney and Donna Faye Gerald (Ed) of Taylors; and two grandsons, Isaac Drevon and Isaiah Dreshaun Tate, both of Gaffney.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, at 2 p.m.at Mount Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. C.A. Wallace officiating. Interment will be in Opal Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home of her son at 416 Northgate Road, Gaffney.
