Ms. Ida B. “Sugar” Wilson, age 58, of 116 General Drive, Gaffney, passed away Sunday morning, September 19th, in her residence.
She was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of the late Louis, Sr. and Elease Camp Wilson.
She was a former Housekeeper for Mary Black Hospital and a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. She was a mother, sister, aunt, and cousin. Known as “Sugar”, she was a lovable and virtuous woman to many in the community of Tank Branch.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a daughter, LaTanya Wilson and a brother, John M. Wilson.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: two sons, Kelvin Wilson (Vanessa) and Lewis Wilson (Kimberly), both of Gaffney, SC.; two daughters, Crystal Wilson (Travis) and Stacey Wilson, both of Gaffney, SC.; three brothers, Louis Wilson, Jr., Alvin Douglas (Myiesshia), and Kurt Douglas, all of Gaffney, SC.; four sisters, Ethel Wilson, Brenda Wilson (Ernest) and Vickie Douglas, all of Gaffney, Marilyn Gidney, of Shelby, NC; 6 grandchildren, Jamesha Gist, Cameron Wilson, Tim’Myza Valentine, Kaitlin Scott, Lewis Wilson, Jr., and Ke’Andre Studyvance; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021, 2:00 p.m., in Mt Sinai Baptist Church, with The Reverend C.A. Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at 1:00 p.m. in the church.
The family is at the home, 116 General Dr., Gaffney and at the home of her daughter Stacey Wilson, 1551 Overbrook Dr. Lot 37, Gaffney.

Tyrone McFadden
Tyrone McFadden, Sr., age 40, of 409 E. Junior High Road, Apt. 44; passed away Thursday, September 16th, in Spartanburg Medical Center.
He was born in Washington, DC and was the son of Linda McFadden of the home and Eugene Frank Riddick of Washington, D.C.
He was former employee of Brown’s Packing.
In addition to his parents he leaves to cherish loving memories: his son, Tyrone McFadden, Jr.; two brothers, Anthony McFadden and Charles Dawkins; a sister, Latosha McFadden, all of Gaffney, South Carolina.
A Graveside Service will be held, Friday, September 24, 2021, 2:00 p.m., in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Timothy L Hunter officiating.
The family is at the home of Quinette Smith, 415 Barclay Ave., Gaffney.
Kay Frances Conley
Kay Frances Conley, age 76, of 421 S. Johnson Street, Gaffney, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, in her home.
Widow of Governor Conley, Kay was born in Washington, D.C. and was a daughter of the late Prelow and Juanita Means Young.
She was a retiree from Health Care- Nursing Home as a Housekeeper.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Toney Young.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: her daughter, Antonette Young of the home; two brothers, Willie Young, of Orangeburg, SC and Horace Young (Hazel), of Alabama; two sisters, Norma Beam (Gene), of Marion, NC and Geraldine Young , of Gaffney, SC; 3 grandchildren, Toney, Jr., Torean Young, and Marquez Young; 10 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 12:00 noon, in The Gilmore Mortuary, with The Reverend Louis Davis officiating.
