Mrs. Vera Knuckles Williams

Mrs. Vera Knuckles Williams, 79, of 117 Gettys Drive, passed away Monday, February 8th, in Agape Hospice Home, Landrum, SC.

She was born in Gaffney and was a daughter of the late Herbert and Regina Peeler Knuckles.

Vera was a graduate of Granard High School and a retiree of Hoechst Celanese. She was a member of Dunton United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Eugene, Evon, and Joe Dean Knuckles, and a sister, Toledo Littlejohn. She leaves to cherish loving memories: twin daughters, Angela Tate (Boyd), and Tangela Poole (John), of Gaffney; a brother, Charles Knuckles (Cordelia), two sisters, Clynthree Oglesby and Lee Webster, of Gaffney; sister-in-law, Edith Knuckles; four grandchildren, Josh Tate, Jasmine Tate, Cameron Poole, and Chrissy Poole; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public Viewing will be held Tuesday from 3-6:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 10-12:00 noon.


A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, 1:00 p.m., in Frederick Memorial Gardens with Rev. Calvin Smith officiating.

William J. Romaine

William J. Romaine, 62, of 111 Gordon St., Clinton, SC., passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021, in Upstate Community Hospice House. He was born in Amsterdam, NY on March 29, 1958 and was a son of the late William and Kathryn Faliveno Romaine and brother of Kelly Romaine.

Arrangements are private.

John Roland Studyvance

John Roland Studyvance, 69, of 501 Beech St., passed away Friday, January 22nd, in his home. He was born on April 19, 1951 in Cherokee County and was a son of the late Furman and Carrie Butler Studyvance.

Roland was a retiree as a Custodian for Granard Middle School.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rickey and James Studyvance; six sisters, Corine McCoy, Susie Smith, Elvina Coleman, Elese Studyvance, Pernice Studyvance, and Margaret Smith.

He leaves to cherish loving memories: his children, Shirley Manning, Rozet Manning, John Dean Manning, Lewis and Minnie Logan, all of Gaffney; six brothers, Furman, Jr. (Rosa Lee), Billy, Larry, Ronnie, Donnie (Debra) Studyvance, all of Gaffney, and Paul Studyvance (Sandra), of High Point, NC; four sisters, Annie Mae Tate, Mary Byers, Carrie Valentine, all of Gaffney, and Barbara Littlejohn (Walter), of Toledo, OH; his best friend, Geraldine Logan; two aunts, Helen Camp and Helen Butler, of Gaffney; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service will be Friday, January 29, 2021, at 12:00 noon, in Gaffney Memorial Park.

The family is at 124 Indiana Circle, Gaffney, SC.
