Mrs. Sheila Lavern Robbs Miller

Sheila Lavern Robbs Miller, 63, of 269 Beltline Rd., Gaffney, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

She was born April 19, 1957 in Cherokee County, SC, and was a daughter of Phillip Eugene Robbs and Martha Jean Hoey Robbs Jefferies.

Sheila was a faithful member of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Missionary, Choir, YWA’s, and Kitchen Committee. She was a retiree at Nestle.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: two sons, Vida Robbs (Aeysha) of Moore, SC and RaShawn Miller of Gaffney; two brothers, Steven Robbs (Cynthia) and Ricky Robbs of Gaffney; seven sisters, Brenda Watkins (Rev. John Watkins) of Shelby, Ethel Lynn Ratchford (Andrew), Minister Michelle Robbs, Gayle Carnell, Eartha Anderson (Steven), Lori Jefferies and Nadiah Jefferies all of Gaffney; 8 grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Public Viewing will be Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m., in Limestone Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

Dorothy Ann Garrett

Dorothy Ann Garrett, 74, of 125 Beltline Rd., Gaffney, passed away Thursday, October 29, at 314 E. Floyd Baker Rd., Gaffney, SC.

She was born in on July 9, 1946 in Raleigh, N.C., to Mary Davis.

She was retired from Limestone Mills, a member of Life Changer’s Church, where she was on the Usher Board, Kitchen Ministry, and a faithful attendant of Bible Study. Dorothy even hosted Bible Study in her own home. She loved the color yellow, bowling, dancing and her Fried Chicken with a Pepsi.

In addition to her mother, Mary Davis she was preceded in death by a daughter, Danisha Garrett.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: three sons, Daniel Garrett, Kelly Garrett (Victoria), and Daryl Garrett (Susan) all of Gaffney; four daughters, Barbara Groom (Joseph), Sentella Parker both of Gaffney, Teresa Littlejohn (Mike) of Spartanburg, Shanquisha Garrett of Boiling Springs, SC; two brothers, Marcus Jackson and Cisco Ashe both of Columbus, OH; four sisters, Patricia Clark (Nordholm), Sheila Jackson, Jackie Ashe, and Leatrice Jackson all of Columbus, OH; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held, Thursday, November 5, at 3:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Ronald Frazier officiating.

James Bernard Harrison

James “Jimmy” Bernard Harrison, 66, of 416 North Highland, Gastonia, North Carolina, formerly of Gaffney, SC passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Atrium Health Hospital in Lincolnton, North Carolina.

James was born in Cherokee County, South Carolina on December 2, 1953 to Nellie E. Littlejohn Humphries. He was reared by Juanita Gaston Harrison and James Randolph Harrison.


Jimmy was a graduate of Gaffney High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. At a young age, he joined Philadelphia Baptist Church in Gaffney, SC.


He was predeceased by his loving parents, Juanita and James Harrison, and a daughter, Marian Hoey.


Jimmy leaves to cherish loving memories his biological mother: Nellie E. Humphries; Four Children: Laquanda “Missy” Harris, Pasty Washington, Terrance Leach and James Randolph Harrison (Sharon). Five sisters: Geraldine Littlejohn, Nancy Barnes, Nellie Mae Littlejohn, Annie Mae Littlejohn, and Varlene Littlejohn. One brother: Paul Dean Littlejohn (Tina). One Aunt: Erica Corry. Additional family members include: 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and his devoted guardian, caregiver and cousins Samuel and Ida Reid.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, 1:00 p.m., at The Gilmore Mortuary with Rev. Nikki Fitzpatrick officiating.


The family is at the home of Beverly Harris, 216 Martin Luther King St.
