Brenda Gail Dodd

Brenda Gail Dodd, 58, of 313 Ivey Road, Chesnee, SC, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019 in her home.

She was born in Spartanburg County and was a daughter of the late Herman and Catherine Lyles Dodd.

Brenda was a graduate of High School and a member of Brooklyn C.M.E. Church.

Surviving are: two sons, Torrey Dodd (Chanti) and Dreyion Dodd, of Pickens, SC; a brother, Herman Dodd, Jr., of Chesnee; three sisters, Vanessa Twitty, of the home, Rose Feaster (Anthony) of Greer, SC, and Cherie Valentine, of Chesnee; 3 grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 4th, 2:00 p.m., in Brooklyn C.M.E. Church with Rev. Dr. Timothy L. Hunter and Rev. Kristie Cohens.  Interment will follow in White Hall Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Dodd Family at 313 Ivey Road, Chesnee, SC.

Roland Camp, Jr.

Roland “Eightball” Galloway Camp Jr., 65, of 210 W. Carolina Street, Blacksburg, passed away Sunday, December 15th, in his home.

 He was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late Roland Camp and Clarissa Conner Camp.

Roland was a graduate of Blacksburg High School and was inducted in the school’s Hall of Fame in 2003. He joined Concord Baptist Church at an early age. He was a former employee of Hoechst Celanese and McAbee Mail Construction Company.

Surviving are: a son, Rolland Galloway (Christi) of Rock Hill, SC; step-son, Jeremiah Johnson; fiancé, Tammie Johnson, of Blacksburg; two brothers, John Camp and Charles Camp of Blacksburg, SC; two sisters, Patricia Hull and Brenda Brown both of Blacksburg, SC; sister in-law, Jessie Camp, of Cowpens, SC; five grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday, at 1:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with the Reverend S.L. Ford officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery

Reverend Hallie Leach

The Reverend Hallie Leach, 98, of Woodbridge, NJ; passed away Wednesday, December 11th, in his home.

Widower of Essie Ruth Geter Leach, he was born in Cherokee County, SC, and was a son of the late Sam and Mamie Leach.

He was the founder and pastor of Little Rock Holiness Church in Elizabeth, NJ where he served faithfully for over fifty years. He was a former truck driver and retired as custodian at Westfield Board of Education.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Herbert, Lloyd, Fletcher, A.W. and Edward Leach, Daisy Blackwell, Beatrice Tuff, Bertha Fawcett, and Jessie Leach; grandson, Avery Leach; granddaughter, Cyreeta Williams; nephew, Bishop Geanette Leach.

He leaves to cherish loving memories: two daughters, Mary Green, of Hopelawn, NJ and Sonovia Rohrmoser (Marc) of Elizabeth, NJ; four sons, Ronald Leach (Ivette), of E. Windsor, NJ, Hassan Leach (Jesseca), Jihaad Leach, of Indiana, and David Wesley (Geneva), of Rahway, NJ; host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 21st, in Zion Temple First Pentecost Church, Linden, NJ.
