James A. Wade, age 70, of Gaffney, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, in Spartanburg Medical Center.

Rev. Danny S. Tate
Rev. Danny Sheroy Tate answered the Masters call on October 18, 2023. Son of the late Wade Tate and the late Valentine Harris Tate, he was born October 25, 1959 in Gaffney, SC.
Danny received his calling to the ministry at Sigsbee Church of Christ in 1987. He later served as an Associate Pastor of Catawba View Missionary Baptist Church in Old Fort, NC for 10 years prior to his illness.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rev. Carl Williams and Wade “Bud” Tate, brother-in-law, Wardell Rainey and nephew Wade “Snook” Lamont Tate.
In addition to his wife of 19 years, Gwendolyn Tate, he is survived by daughters, Ginger Tate of Fort Mill, SC, and Rosheeda Littlejohn of Gaffney; sons, Daniel Tate, Quincy Tate, and Steven Bowen, all of Gaffney; Marcus Tate, of Spartanburg, and Daryl Crawford (Shavon) of Greensboro NC; a sister, Annie Rainey of Gaffney; brothers, Hilliard Tate (Jean) of Columbia, and Christopher Gregory of Gaffney;21 grandchildren; special family friend, Carla “Jean” Byrd; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be held Monday, October 23, 2023 from 1-6 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023, 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of The Gilmore Mortuary with Rev. Ronald Sullivan, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt Sinai Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
Ivey Gilbertine Willis Littlejohn
Ivey Gilbertine Willis Littlejohn, age 55, of 210 Park St., Inman, SC, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, in Spartanburg Medical Center.
She was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of Billy Willis (Ruby) and the late Cornelious Littlejohn Willis.
Ivey was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School (Class of 1986), and employed as a caregiver for over 15yrs.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by grandparents, John R. Wells and Elvira Jeter; a sister, Lavonnia W. Phillips; a niece, Johnnica Willis; two brothers-in-law, Dewayne Mayberry and Charles Foster; and an aunt, Shirley W. Manning.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: a son, Tyson E. Willis (Destiny); a daughter, Quodelia I. Smith (Tavarus), her beloved companion, Al Staggs; a brother, Charles Willis; seven sisters, Belinda L. Mayberry, Genvonnia W. Foster (Robert), Lisa W. Farmer (Yamel), Billiejo Willis (Alfonso), Jacqualine W. Bristol (Antron), Dysheka Smith and Billisha Hemphill, three god-sisters, Stephanie Mickles (James), Tacha S. Avery (Darnell), Enelious Logan; four uncles, Billy Littlejohn, of Houston, TX, Harry Littlejohn, of Shelby, NC, Gilbert Littlejohn, of Spartanburg, SC, and Donnie Willis (Teresa), of Gaffney, SC; two aunts, Elwillie L. Williams, of Washington, DC and Betty H. Robinson (Willie), of Arizona; a dear and loving god-mother, Cordelia Knuckles (Charles); 8 grandchildren, special friend/brother, James Posey; a host of niece; nephews; cousins and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 22nd, 3:00 p.m., in Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. James W. Sanders, Jr. presiding and Rev. Dr. Timothy L Hunter officiating.
The family is the home of Belinda Mayberry, 406 Browning Rd., Gaffney, SC and will receive visitors daily from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
