Mrs. Stella L. Palmer

Mrs. Stella Louise Palmer, 78, of 2902 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC, passed away, Friday, August 4, 2023, in Bevid Place, Spartanburg.

She was born in Cherokee County, SC to L.D. and Cora Jeffries Warren.

Stella was educated in the schools of Cherokee County and was a retired employee of Nestle.

She was a member of True Holiness Church of God where she served as a former Sunday School Teacher.  She was also a member of the Gospel Harmonettes.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three sons, William Berry, John Earl, and Terry Lamar; a grandson, Rashaud Palmer.

She leaves to cherish loving memories; a daughter Lisa Renee Palmer, of Inman, SC; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 12th, at 4:00 p.m. in Piney Grove Baptist Church in Cowpens with the Reverend Derrick Wood and the Reverend Dr. C. Dennis Rector, Interment will follow in Island Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Gerutha Littlejohn Sarratt

Mrs. Gerutha Littlejohn Sarratt was born in Cherokee County, SC on February, 14, 1934. Widow of Albert Sarratt, she was a daughter of the late Dever and Rehobirtha Faucett Littlejohn.

She was a faithful member of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church where she was on the Deaconess Board, Missionary, a Sunday School Teacher, Pastor Aide, on the Flower and Church Anniversary Committee.

Gerutha departed from this life on August 3, 2023, in her home.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Clynthree Sarratt; siblings, Dever Littlejohn, A.W. Littlejohn, Sr., Edward Littlejohn, Albert Littlejohn, Lula Mae Cannon, and Johnnie Joe Epps.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: two sons, John L. Sarratt, of the home and Larry R. Sarratt, of Ashland, VA; three daughters, Hattie L. Smith and Nellie R. Sarratt, both of Gaffney, Judy A. Doggett, of the home; a brother, Billy Littlejohn (Ann), of Gaffney; a sister, Louise Simons, of Gaffney; a son in-law, Charles E. Smith; sisters in-law, Wyonna Dawkins Littlejohn, Ann Littlejohn and Essie Littlejohn; 10 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 9th, at 2:00 p.m., in Limestone Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Michael L. Golden officiating, Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at her residence.

Ms. Lillie Bonner

Ms. Lillie Bonner was born in Cherokee County, SC on April 28, 1952 to Alice Thomas Bonner and Robert Bonner, Sr.

She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and Retired as a Custodian in the Cherokee County School District.

At an early age she joined Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lettvetra Ann Bonner, a sister, Diane Dews; four brothers, L.C. Bonner, Robert Bonner, Jr., Monroe Bonner, and Clarence E. Bonner, Sr.

Lillie leaves to cherish loving memories: a brother, John L. Bonner, of New York City, NY; a sister, Patricia B. Good, of Gaffney, SC; other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be held Friday, August 11th, in Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. James W Sanders, Jr. and Rev. C. A. Wallace. Event of Inclement Weather, the service will be held in the Gilmore Mortuary Chapel. Interment then will follow in Mr. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
