Prophetess Karen Lipscomb Tate

Prophetess Karen Lipscomb Tate, 59, of 109 W. O’Neal Street, Gaffney, SC, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, in Regional Healthcare Hospice, Spartanburg, SC.

She was born in Gaffney and was a daughter of William Johnson and the late Nancy Lucille Lipscomb Tate.

She was a 1982 graduate of Gaffney High School. She received a BS Degree in Computer Science from Gardner Webb University.

Karen was ordained as a minister in 1995. She was a member of New Jerusalem Rebirth and Restoration Ministries, Shelby, NC.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: her father, William Johnson, of the home; former husband, Furman Tate, of Gaffney; a brother, Jimmy Lipscomb (Lori), of Gaffney godchildren, Wesley Terrill, of Savannah, Ga; Webster Terrill, of Gaffney, Jasmine Tate, of Winter Haven, FL, and Travis “T.J.” Williams, of Greensboro, NC; an uncle, John Foster, of Gaffney; a best friend/sister, Priscilla W. Terrill, of Gaffney; other relatives and many friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., in New Mount Zion Baptist Church with The Reverend Bobby Rodgers and Bishop Freddie Marshall. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Damarrius Isaiah Rodgers

Damarrius Isaiah Rodgers, 24, of 1350 Denton Road, Spartanburg, SC, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023, in Spartanburg Medical Center. He was born in Gaffney, SC and was a son of Khances Rodgers.

Damarrius was educated in the public Schools of Cherokee County. He was a member of Be-thesda Presbyterian Church.

He leaves to cherish loving memories: his parents, Khances Rodgers and Christina Hines, of Gaffney; a daughter, Mollie Rodgers, of Gaffney; grandparents, Patricia Barnes, Vic Davis, Sr., of Gaffney other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, 2:00 p.m., in Bethesda Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Rayford Camp and The Reverend Xavier Haney. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

The family is at the home of Rosetta Smith, 103 Carver Street.

Ronnie E. Dalton

Ronnie Eugene Dalton, Sr., 75, of 315 W. Montgomery Street, Gaffney, SC, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023, in Cherokee Medical Center.

He was born in Statesville, NC and was a son of the late Mary Louise Redman Dalton.

Ronnie was an employee of Childers Heating and Air Company in Gaffney.

He leaves to cherish loving memories: a son, Ronnie Dalton, Jr., of Gaffney; a daughter, Pepras Smith (Terrell), of the home; two grandchildren, Charmaine Littlejohn and Aaliyah Belk, and a great-grandchild, Jahyla Hayward, all of Gaffney; other relatives and friends.
