Mrs. Annita L. Conley

Annita Gaston Conley, 72, of 510 Thompson Street, Gaffney, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023 in Cherokee Medical Center.

She was born in Gaffney, SC and was a daughter of the late James Campfield Gaston and the late Bernice Linder Gaston. 

She was a member of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on  the Woman Ministry, Usher Board, and Choir. She was  a 1968 graduate of Granard High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Wood.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: a daughter, Sandra Cooper (Fredrick), of Beaufort, SC; a son, Stefan Gaston (Tracy), of Long Beach, CA; a brother, James “Ike” Lattimore, of Gaffney, SC; a sister, Brenda Gaston Dawkins (Kenneth), of Gaffney, SC; four grandchildren, Stefan Gaston, Jr., Trayen Gaston, Stephanie Gaston, and Dammon Rogers, Jr.; two great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.


Earley Lattimore, Jr.

Earley Lattimore, Jr., 77, of 126 Holland Street, Gaffney, passed away Wednesday morning in his home.

Husband of Bobbie Norman Lattimore, he was born in Union County, SC and was a son of the late Earley Lattimore, Sr. and the late Iola Smith Lattimore.

He was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a self-employed auto mechanic.

Earley was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Victor Hollis and Ben Lattimore.  He leaves to cherish loving memories: his wife, Bobbie, of the home; a son, Masceo Lattimore, of Spartanburg, SC; two daughters, Trena Manning (Laymon), of Gaffney and Tennille R. Lattimore, of the home; a sister, Sandra Norris (Napoleon), of Gaffney; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 15th, 2:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with The Reverend Tony Makupson officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of Trena and Laymon Manning, 116 Olee Rd., Gaffney, SC.

Winnie Jane Ross Crosby

Winnie Jane Ross Crosby, 71, of 161 Kings Road, Gaffney, SC, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, in Spartanburg Medical Center.

Wife of Vincent Alonzo Crosby, she was born in Shelby, NC and was a daughter of the late Thomas Converse Rice and the late Vordia Lockhart Dawkins.
“Jane” was a member of The Divine True Holiness Church of God in Blacksburg, SC. She was a 1970 graduate of Blacksburg High School. She was a former employee TNS Mills and a retiree of Magnolia Finishing Company.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kelton Jerrard Ross.

Left to cherish loving memories are: her husband, Vincent Crosby, of the home; a son, Gaderria Leon Ross, of Enoree, SC; a brother, Lonnie Dawkins (Joyce), of Gaffney; sisters, Maudie Brown, of Shelby, NC; Detiria Hodo, of Flint, MI, Stacey Rice, of Denver, CO, Leslie Lynch (James), of Wake Forest, NC, and Nikki Rice, of Waycross, GA; two grandchildren, Alysa Wrapp, of Charlotte, NC, and Alex Ross, of Blacksburg; other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 12th, 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortu-ary Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, immediately following the visitation, with The Rev. Lizzie Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in The Divine True Holiness Church of God Cemetery.
