Dionne Yvette Horton

Dionne Yvette Horton, age 50, of 921 Hetty Hill, Gaffney, passed away Saturday, December 17th, in her residence.

She was born in Gaffney, SC on December 12, 1972, to Judy Horton Belcher and Roy Horton. She was the wife of Christopher Dawkins.

Dionne attended the public schools of Cherokee County, SC and was a graduate of Gaffney High School. She was employed at PlyGem for 16 years. She was a member of Limestone Missionary Baptist church where she was on the Youth and Helping Hands.

In addition to her parents and husband she leaves to cherish loving memories; a son, Quintin Horton, of Gaffney, SC; two daughters, Tamia and Tamara Horton, both of Gaffney, SC; a brother, Timothy Horton, of Boiling Springs, SC; two grandchildren, Naomi Davidson and Leia Tyner; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 22, 2022, 1:00 p.m., in Limestone Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Michael L. Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Gaffney Memorial Park.

Public Viewing will be held Wednesday from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Leola L. Gregory

Leola L. Gregory, age 89, of 1625 W. Buford Street, Gaffney, passed away on Thursday, December 15th, in Cherokee Medical Center.

She was born in Chester, SC. and was a daughter of the late Jessie and Mary Wilks Gregory.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by ten siblings.

She leaves to cherish loving memories to a son, Christopher Gregory, of Gaffney; two grandsons, Christopher Coleman, of Mooresboro, NC and Andre Cross of New Mexico; three great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 19th, 1:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with The Reverend Dr. Timothy L. Hunter officiating. Interment will be private.


Vincente Leon Foster

Vincente Leon Foster, age 66, of 156 Oakbrook Lane, Gaffney, passed away on Sunday, December 11th, in Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.

Husband of Washcinda “Netta” Jackson Foster, he was born in Gaffney and was the son of the late Rufus H. Foster, Jr. and the late Mildred Thomas Foster.

Vincente was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, Mars Hill College, and Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science. He was the co-owner, and Licensed Mortician of Foster Funeral Home in Gaffney.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Mar’kee Guest.  He leaves to cherish loving memories: his devoted wife, Washcinda “Netta” Foster, of the home; four daughters, Briana V. Foster, of Lexington, SC, Bianca L. Foster, of Columbia, SC, Kiana M. Foster, of Spartanburg, SC, and TG Foster; grandchildren, Breann Z. Whisenant, Markee Guest-Linder, Davaney M. McGill, Leo Jones, and Kailia H. Oswald; a sister, Cathy Foster, of Gaffney; mother-in-law, Gelina Camp, of Gaffney; an uncle, Dr. Littlejohn Foster (Sandy), of Charlotte, NC; aunts, Madelyn Daniels, of Chattanooga, TN, Gloria Inabinette, Thelma Foster, Geraldine Morris, and Eloise Leach, of Gaffney; sisters-in-law, Olishia Gaffney and Sandy Dillard (Adam); God-Son, Eric Scott; other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 16th, 1:00 p.m., in Concord Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Michael A. Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He may be viewed at The Gilmore Mortuary on Thursday from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m., and at the church on Friday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. The family requests that no photos of Vincente be taken.
