Erma Chambers Lockhart

Erma Chambers Lockhart, 83, of 1101 N. Morgan Street, Shelby, NC, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022, in Peak Resources, Shelby, NC.

Widow of Bishop Eddie Lockhart, she was born in Anson, NC and was a daughter of the late Herman and Mary Bennett Chambers.

Erma was a faithful member of The Divine True Holiness Church of God in Blacksburg, SC where she was “First Lady” for many years.  She was a retired Teacher’s Aide at Grover Elementary School, Grover NC. 

She leaves to cherish loving memories: four sons, William Lamont Lockhart (Venessa), of Kings Mountain, NC, Norris Wike A(Patrice), of Suffolk, VA, Orlando Williams, of Morganton, NC, and Ricky Chambers, (Mary), of Kannapolis, NC; God Daughters, Karen Houze (Rev. Billy) and Evelyn Pressley, both of Kings Mountain; brothers, Hubert Chambers, of Charlotte, NC and Richard Chambers (Teresa), of Kannapolis, NC; a sister Huby Chatman, of Kannapolis; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 23rd, 2:00 p.m., in The Divine True Holiness Church of God  with Bishop Willie Littlejohn, Eulogist,  and Overseer Theodore Lockhart, Officiant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She will lie in the church at 1:00 p.m.   A Face Mask is required to be worn in Church.

The family is at the home of  Lamont and Venessa Lockhart, 121 Trotter Lane, Kings Mountain.


Alvin Billy K. Twitty, Jr.

Alvin Billy K Twitty Jr of Ivey Rd. Chesnee, SC passed on July 13, 2022 at Upstate Community Hospice House, Landrum, SC. Alvin was the son of late Vanessa Dodd, and Alvin Billy K Twitty Sr.

A charismatic man, many wouldn’t hesitate to have good things to say of and stories to tell. He leaves behind to cherish his memories: three sons; Quaderian S. Twitty of Spartanburg, SC. Jamal H. Martin and Jaylon A. Martin of Chesnee, SC; two sisters Shikesta Mcdowell of Boiling Springs, SC and Alisa Twitty of Chesnee, SC; two nephews Javian Amad Ford, Andrew Jeremiah Mcdowell; and a niece Kiden Shikesta Ford. And a host aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and other relatives.

At this time the family would like privacy and ask to respect their wishes as they grieve with no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.


Tyler Malik Camp

Tyler Malik Camp, 24, of 228 College Dr., Gaffney, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022, in Spartanburg Medical Center.

He was born February 13, 1998, in Cherokee County to Dajuan Jefferies and Tracina Camp.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at The Word of Deliverance with the Apostle Tommy Twitty officiating.
