Lessie Mae Curtis Pugh

Mrs. Lessie Curtis Pugh, 68, of 119 Clyde Street, Spindale, NC, passed away Thursday, January 13th, in Rutherford Regional Medical Center, Rutherfordton, NC.

She was born in in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Louis William and Lula Mae Fernanders Curtis.

She was a member of Friends In Christ Church in Chesnee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Billy J. Curtis, Virginia Surratt, Martha Twitty;

She leaves to cherish loving memories: her husband, Sidney Pugh, of Maryland; a son, Kim Curtis (Icolyn), of Salt Lake City, UT; siblings, Lewis Curtis, Jr. (Morine), of Spindale, Dan Curtis (Minister Barbara), of Chesnee, Carson L. Curtis, of Shelby, NC; Lucy Twitty, of Forest City; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., in Fernanders Acres Cemetery, in Chesnee with The Reverend Horace Wilson officiating.

Mary ‘LuLu” Littlejohn

Mrs. Mary Littlejohn, 63, of 682 S. Converse Street, Spartanburg, SC, passed away Friday, January 14th, in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

She was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of the late Tizer and Thelma Jefferies Tate.

She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: her husband, Eddie Littlejohn, of Shelby, NC; sons, Corey Tate and Corbett Smith, both of Gaffney; a daughter, April Tate, of the home; brothers, Thurmond Tate (Lillie), Lyman Tate, (Angela), of Gaffney, Herman Tate (Sheila), of Hickory Grove, SC, Sherman Tate and Furman Tate (Monica), of Blacksburg, SC; sisters, Sally Clarke (Dennis), Fatina Wood (Dennis), Shirley Jenkins, Teresa Davidson, and Lynn Dover, all of Gaffney; 15 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, 2:00 p.m., in Philadelphia Baptist Church with The Reverend Danny Burnside officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Ethel Boyd

Mrs. Ethel Littlejohn Boyd, 68, of 2 Griffith Road, Greenville, SC, passed away Thursday, January 13th, in Patewood Medical Facility, Greenville.

Wife of James Thomas Boyd, she was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of the late Edward “Slim” Littlejohn and the late Maggie Whittenburg Littlejohn.

She was a member of White Plains Baptist Church in Greenville and a former member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Gaffney.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sons, Aldous Boyd and James
Boyd; and a brother, Edward “Charlie Boy” Littlejohn.  She leaves to cherish loving memories: her husband, James, of the home; sons, Sheridan Terrell Littlejohn, Yusuf Littlejohn, and Thomas Boyd, all of Greenville; James Boyd, Jr., of Chester, SC; daughters, Harriet Arnold, Sheba Igho (Patrick) of Greenville, Benetta Boyd-Byrd (Gerald), of Simpsonville, SC, Sheila Minter, Cynthia Strong, and Sylvia Young, all of Chester, SC; a sister, Traci Littlejohn Watkins (Chris), of Gaffney; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be Friday, 2:00 p.m., in White Plains Baptist Church in Greenville with The Rev. Ernest Burgess officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery in Greenville.
