Linda Anne Logan

Linda Anne Logan, 61, of 310 Sycamore Street, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019, in her home.

Widow of Tommy Logan, she was born in Gaffney and was a daughter of the late O.P and Wilma Wood Davis.

She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and a retired employee of National Textile, Inc.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Helen and Paul.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: her daughters, Mary Davis (Charles Smith, Lutricia Jefferies (Zavier), Jacqueline Logan and Lataner Logan; sons, Kevin Davis, Tommy, Michael, and Darius Logan; two sisters, a sister, Frances Davis; a brother, John Davis, all of Gaffney; 4 grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren; other relatives and friends.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m., in Mount Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Clarence Davis officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. She will be in state in the church Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Anthony Quinn Lane

Anthony Quinn Lane, 61, of 203 Lincoln Drive, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Brooklyn NY and was a son of the late Layzell Lane, Sr., and Rothena Johnson Lane.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Lane.

He leaves to cherish loving memories: two sons, Kenneth Tate and Anthony Tate (Shermal); five daughters, Olivia Tate, Talisha Tate, Tenisha Tate, Anchellica Watkins (Chris), and Revi Tate; a sister, Earnestine Davis (Eddie); three brothers, Layzell Lane, Jr., Robert E. Lane, and Brian Buckson, all of Gaffney; seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

The Funeral Service will be Thursday, 2:00 p.m., in New Mount Zion Baptist Church with The Reverend Roger Mason officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He will be in state in the church Thursday at 1:00 p.m.

Ezra Smith Tate

Mrs. Ezra Smith Tate, 95, of 103 Draytonville Rd., passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019, in her home.

Widow of L.W. Tate, she was born in Cherokee County on July 17, 1924 to Zellie and Lucinda Smith.

She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church where she served as: Mother of the Church, Deaconess, leader of the Mixed Choir, Usher Board, Missionary, Advisor of the Junior Ushers, and former custodian.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: sons, Ernest W. Smith and Joe Dean Tate; sisters, Nellie Mae Smith and Sarah Ealey; brothers, Eugene, Elmer, Leroy, and Oscar Smith.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: her children, Aurelia Annette Byers, Finley A. Tate (Betty), Mary L. Sanders, and “Jam Up” Tate (Willie), all of Gaffney, Shirley A. Hill (Cleavon), of Washington, D.C.; god son, Carl Howell, of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Madeline Elder, Elizabeth Penn, and Pansy Martin, all of Washington, D.C.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday, 2 p.m., in Limestone Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Golden officiating and Rev. Dr. Michael A. Bridges, eulogist. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery. She will be in state in the church Saturday at 1 p.m.
