Carol Lynn Dover Tate, 64, of 204 Chestnut St., Gaffney, passed away Friday, February 11th, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of Tizer Thurman Tate and Jessie Mae Dover Davidson.
She was affectionately called, “Lynn” by many where she was a phenomenal cook for multiple restaurants around the community of Gaffney. Such as The Cherokee Food Mart, Sandwich Castle and many more.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Carl Edward Dover, three sisters, Dorothy Dover McDowell, Mary Littlejohn, and Dianne Marie Davidson.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: a special friend, James “Tappy” Manning, of the home; brothers, Thomas Davidson, Jr., Calvin Davidson, Sherman Tate, Herman Tate, Thurman Tate, Lyman Tate, and Furman Tate; sisters, Sallie Clarke, Fatina Wood, Shirley Jenkins, and Teresa Davidson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 19th, at 2:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
