James Lee David Brackett

James BrackettCOWPENS — James Lee David Brackett, 64, of 367 Waters Road, entered eternal rest Saturday, Aug. 22, in his home.

He was born in Cherokee County and was a son of Ruby Mae Brackett of the home and the late Johnny Lee Brackett.

“David” was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church and a retired construction worker.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by four sons, Christopher Watkins of Spartanburg, Johnny Brackett, Justin Brackett and James Brackett, all of Allentown, Pa.; four daughters, Jacqueline Klotz, Crystal Klotz Washington, Lashawn Klotz and Jessica Klotz, all of Allentown; four brothers, Johnny Vernon “Sweet” Brackett and Joseph Brackett, both of Cowpens, Ricky Brackett of Gaffney and Randy Brackett (Debra) of Chesnee; two sisters, Nellie Brackett of Cowpens and Joyce Cuttino of Richmond, Va.; 28 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be Saturday at noon, in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Timothy L. Hunter officiating, assisted by Dr. A.L. Brackett and Rev. Jacob Hunter, II.

The Gilmore Mortuary is assisting the family.

Willie Lee Butler “Rabbit” Camp

CampWillie Lee Butler “Rabbit” Camp, 56, of 107 McArthur Street, entered eternal rest Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Gaffney and was a son of Helen Butler Camp and the late Willie Lee Camp. He attended area churches and was employed in construction and the Fast Food Industry.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by three daughters, Quadrillya Armstrong, and Nicole Armstrong, both of Gaffney, and Quincey Armstrong of Greenville; three sons, Cornellius, Raynard and Greg Armstrong, all of Gaffney; two brothers, Vernon and Marvin Camp, both of Gaffney; six sisters, Debra Byars (Dean), Wilma, Sarah, Ella, Carol and Bobbie Camp, all of Gaffney; 13 grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, 3 p.m., at Encounter Church of Gaffney, SC with Reverend Richard Woods officiating.

The Gilmore Mortuary is assisting the family.

Lester Cleveland Camp

LCLester Cleveland Camp, 75, of Charlotte, N.C., entered eternal rest Friday, Aug. 7, in The Brian Center, Charlotte.

Widower of Barbara Faye Surratt Camp, he was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late Lesco and Mary Viola Camp.

He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Cowpens and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

“L.C.” was preceded in death by two sons, Lester Camp, Jr. and Clyde Camp; a brother, William Camp.

Surviving are two daughters, Hope Sweezy of Charlotte, and Mary Rivera of Gaffney; two stepdaughters, Rev. Barbara Curtis (Dan) of Chesnee and Mary Gregory (James) of Gaffney; two stepsons, Thomas Camp and Charles Surratt, both of Forest City, N.C.; one sister, Bessie Fink of Kings Mountain, N.C.; 20 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Alvin Stafford officiating.

The family is at the home of Mary and James Gregory, 202 Cherry St.

The Gilmore Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
