Eugenia D. Hogue

20160720_181043On Tuesday, July 19, 2016, Eugenia D. Hogue went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Born in Gaffney, S.C., Eugenia was the daughter to the late Randolph Lowery and Ora Dawkins.

Eugenia was a devoted member of Island Creek Baptist Church in Cowpen, South Carolina.

Eugenia was preceded in death by her husband John Roland Hogue, two siblings, Creola Phillips and John Dawkins; seven children, James Earl Hogue, Willie G. Hogue, Thomas A. Hogue, Jimmy Dean Hogue, James (Buck) Hogue, Shirley Brower and Odell C. Hogue.

Eugenia is survived by four children: John L. Hogue (Ollie) of Moore, S.C., Hoyle Hogue of Pasa Robles, C.A., Amozene Hogue of District Heights, M.D. and Mary Jordan of District Heights, M.D.; three sisters, Azlee Lowery and Florine Lindsay of Thomasville, N.C. and Ernestine Woodruff Harris of Mt. Union, P.A.; one brother, Thomas Lowery of Thomasville, N.C.; 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren, 3 special (former) daughter-in-laws, Vernelle Hogue, Connice Hogue and Wasanthie Pathagama, special friend, Shirley Lambert and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30th at 2pm at the Island Creek Baptist Church of Cowpens, SC. Visitation will be at 1pm.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Willie Mae Studyvance Good

Willie-Mae-GoodMrs. Willie Mae Studyvance Good, 50, of 816 South Johnson Street, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 16th, in her home.

Wife of Paul Good, she was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of Johnny Frank Byers and Mary Studyvance Byers.

She was a graduate of Gaffney High School, Class of 1983, and was a former employee of Burger King.

Willie was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by: her children, Franchesca Studyvance (Scott Conley) of Gaffney and Quenzetta Sarratt (Darrell Richburgh) of North Charleston, SC, Alisa Conley and Franchon Cunningham, reared in the home; 4 grandchildren, Marcus and Frantaysha Dewberry, Kwentasia and Delaina Richburg; 4 sisters, Mary Studyvance, Johnnie Woodson, Frances A. Byers, and Lillie Hughes (Russell), all of Gaffney; 4 brothers, James Byers (Ruby) of Gaffney, Warren Byers of Spartanburg, Melvin Harrison, Alvin Harrison (Rachel) of Boston, MA; aunts, Patricia Sarratt (Darwin) Rosa Studyvance (Furman), Shirley Dover (Charles), Annie Tate, Corrine McCoy, Barbara Littlejohn, Carrie Valentine, Parniece Hughes, Mary Nichols, Vergie Cord, and Liza Howell; uncles, James, Rolen, Billy, Larry, Paul, Donnie (Debra), and Ronnie; great-aunts, Helen Butler, Helen Camp, Billie Sue McFadden, Hazel Allen, and Daisy Logan; mother-in-law, Sarah Stuckes (Willie); sisters-in-law, Sallie Good and Kimberly Brown(Grady); brothers-in-law, Otha Nichols and Julius Good.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, July 23rd at 3:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Brother Earl Buckson officiating.

She may be viewed in The Gilmore Mortuary Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 pm.
