Mrs. Frances (Mam) R. Smith

Mrs. Frances (Mam) R. Smith entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 25, in her home. She retired from the Cherokee County School District after 37 years of service. Ms. Smith was a member of AAUW, Cherokee Red Cross, Cherokee County Literacy Association, Cherokee County Arts Council, Friends of the Library, Democratic Women, a charter member and Elder of Bethesda Presbyterian Church.

Mam is survived by her children Victor Smith, La- Tanya Smith, and Myrielle Smith Johnson, Esq.; Brother, Ivan Reeves (Ruby), grandchildren, Michael Brown, Reeves Smith, Toni Johnson Freeman, and Jared Foster Smith. She was a mother, sister, teacher and friend.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, August 12th, 2:00 p.m., in Limestone Presbyterian Church, South Limestone Street in Gaffney, with Rev. Rayford Camp officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends in the Church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to either Cherokee County Red Cross, Bethesda Presbyterian Church or CCEAR (Retired teachers).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Cherokee County Chapter of the American Red Cross, or The Retired Teachers Association (CCEAR) of Cherokee County.

Noah Immanuel DuBose

Noah Immanuel DuBose was reunited with the Lord on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.

He was greeted in heaven by his great grandparents, Furman Lattimore, Sr., Caroline Wingate, and Dave Willis Wingate.

He is mourned on earth by his parents, Ashely and Jameson DuBose; grandparents, Tronie Hollis, Lisa Lattimore, Yulonda Wingate-DuBose, and James DuBose, Jr.; his great-grandparents, Annie Lattimore, Robert Davidson, Bobbie Phillips, Trubby Dubose, and James Dubose; aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Service will be Monday, July 31 at 7 p.m. at Bethel Assembly of God in Boiling Springs, S.C. with Pastor Dan Rosa officiating.

Mrs. Gerome Schenck

Mrs. Gerome Schenck, 92, of Irvington Town, New Jersey, formerly of Boiling Springs, NC, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 15th, in her home.

She was born in Chesnee, South Carolina on January 29, 1926 to Fletcher Gaffney and Irene McDowell Gaffney.

She was a member of Green Bethel Baptist Church in Boiling Springs where she served faithfully for many years.

“Mama G” as she was affectionately called, was a delightful lady who loved to cook and clean.

Mrs. Schenck was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Schenck; two sons, Willie and Izella, and several siblings. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Millie Monroe (Clarence) of the home; a sister, Mrs. Alice Foster of Wellford, SC; one brother, Norman Turner of Chesnee; 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., in Green Bethel Baptist Church Boiling Springs, NC, the Reverend Wade Wallace officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery
