Charles Rubeno Petty

Charles Rubeno Petty, 59, of 409 Browning Road, entered into eternity on Tuesday, Feb. 28, in New Jersey.

Husband of Jeanette Pearson Petty, he was born in Shelby, N.C. and was a son of Lester Petty, Sr. of the home and the late Troy Viola Littlejohn Petty.

He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, a retired Patients Advocate of Greystone State Psychiatric Hospital in New Jersey, and past president of C.W.A. Local Union 1040.

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by a sister, Shirley Petty Roberson of Gaffney; 3 brothers, Larry Littlejohn (Chloette), Roy Petty (Patricia), and Elliott Petty (Deon), other relatives and friends.

Services will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 12 noon, in Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Burnside officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He will be in state in the church Saturday at 11 a.m.

Mrs. June Adams Johnson

Mrs. June Adams Johnson, 73, of 113 Dawkins Street, Cowpens, passed away on March 2, 2017 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of John Johnson and mother of Paige Adams of the home and Troy Adams of Atlanta, Georgia.

Widow of John Carl Johnson, she was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and was a daughter of the late Benny and Callie Adams.

She was a member of Brownsville Community Baptist Church in Brooklyn and a retired telephone operator.
Funeral Service will be Friday, March 10, 2017 at 2 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Minister Paige Adams and Rev. Timothy L. Hunter.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary.

Carrie Nell Davis

Mrs. Carrie Nell Davis, 94, of 114 Roberta Dr, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 11th, in her home.

Widow of William Davis, she was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of the late John and Roberta Lipscomb Banks.

She was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, husband, and siblings, she was preceded in death by 3 sons, John, Marvin, and Lamon Davis.

Surviving are: a son, Roy Davis of Gaffney; two daughters, Carolyn Monroe (Roy) of Temple Hills, MD, and Gloria Davis of Gaffney; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery with the Pastor, Dr. Michael A. Bridges, officiating.

Mrs. Davis maybe viewed in The Gilmore Mortuary Wednesday from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
