Larry Bernard Davis

Larry Bernard “Fish” Davis, 67, of 215 Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. street, passed away, Saturday, May 26th, in his home.

Husband of Mamie Moore Davis, he was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late George and Lessie Smith Davis.

He was, a 1971 Graduate of Granard High School, a member of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church, a veteran of the United States Navy, and former custodian at Granard Middle School and Limestone Middle School.

Surviving are: his wife, Mamie M. Davis of the home; one son, Jerome Fowler of Gaffney; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Thompson (Weldon) and Minister Cathy Neal (Quentin), of Gaffney; one grandchild, Jerecia Charlotte Fowler of Gaffney.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, 3 p.m., in Limestone Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Gaffney Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the home daily from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Joshua Dewan Buckson

Petty Officer 3rd Class Joshua Dewan Buckson, 36, of 2015 Hancock Street, San Diego, CA, passed away Sunday, May 13, in San Diego.

He was born in Cleveland County, NC and was a son of Earl Buckson and Doris Foster Buckson, both of Gaffney.

Joshua was a graduate of Gaffney High School Class of 2000.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he was employed as a Hospital Corpsman, Surgical Technologist, and Dental Surgery Technician. He was employed as a Surgical Technician in Scripps Hospital, San Diego.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by: a brother, Daniel Buckson of Gaffney; a sister, Cussundra Buckson of Gaffney; nieces, Da’Niyah Buckson of Blacksburg and Diamynd Buckson of Gaffney; nephew, De’Andre Buckson of Blacksburg.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m., in Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Freddie Davidson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

He will be in state in the church Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at which time a video will be shown.

The family is at the home of his mother at 400 McCluney Drive.

Mr. Artemas J. Conley

Mr. Artemas J. Conley, 64, of 502 A Railroad Avenue, passed away Friday, May 7, 2018, in his home. He was a son of the late Melvin and Beannie Wray Conley.

He was a graduate of Gaffney High School and a former employee of the Peachtree Centre.

Surviving are: two brothers, Joseph Conley of Shelby, NC and Tommy Conley (Ronda) of Gaffney; several nephews and nieces including two nieces, Joyce Conley Hemphill of Gaffney and Partheane C. Jefferies of Spartanburg, reared in the home as his sisters.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, 1:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Kerwin Wray officiating.

The family is at the home of his brother, Tommy Conley (Ronda), 104 Lincoln Drive.
