Leon Bernard Duncan

Leon Bernard Duncan was born in Union County, South Carolina on June 30, 1941 to Lawrence Cleveland Duncan and Sallie Ree Smith Duncan.

He passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 in his home, 401 Glen Cove Drive, Chesterfield, MO.

He was a graduate of Sims High School, a Baptist, and a retired Master Chef.

Surviving are: a son, Leon Duncan, Jr. (Carrie); two daughters, Shaynene Wise and Cassandra Duncan Quash (Jay); three brothers, Curtis D. Duncan (Doris), Michael A. Duncan (Gloria), and Rev. William L.C. Duncan; two sisters, Linda Ziegler (Ronald) and Audrey Love (Castelle); 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, 12 Noon in Woodson Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Malachi Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He will be in state in the church Friday at 11:00 am.

Mekita Shadale Mills

Mekita Shadale Mills, 36, of 100 Redwood Circle, Apt. 16, passed away Thursday, June 28, in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
She was born in Greenville County and was a daughter of Peggy Leach Mills and William E. Mills.

Mekita was a member of Concord Baptist Church, a Graduate of Gaffney High School (Class of 2000), and an employee of Nestle.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fletcher and Louise Leach and James and Lula Mae Mills.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: a son, William A. Wood, of the home a daughter, Ari D. Mills of the home; mother, Peggy Mills (Frederick) of Gaffney; father, William E. Mills (Faurtina); brother, Daniel R. Mills of of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two sisters, Jacqueline T. Watkins (Robert) of Gaffney and Franchesta Massey of Greenville; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. in Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Michael A. Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She will be in state in the church Friday at 12:00 noon.

Mrs. Mary Alice Johnson Landrum

Mrs. Mary Alice Johnson Landrum, 78, of 7666 Desmond Ave., North Charleston, SC, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.

She was born on March 22, 1940 in Cowpens, South Carolina as the eighth child of Fraygious and Garrie Mayes Johnson. She was the widow of Ostell Daniel Landrum, Mary received her formal education in Cowpens, Pacolet, and Charleston, SC. She was a member of The Air Force Joint Base Chapel Church in Charleston.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four siblings, and a son, Victor.

Surviving are; two sons, Calvin A Landrum of Charleston, SC and Craig A. Landrum of Killeen, TX; two grandsons, Jymere A. and Craig A., both of Texas; two sisters, Ms. Frances Corbett of Pleasantville, NJ, and Ms. Barbara McNair of Atlantic City, NJ; one brother, James O. Johnson of Upper Marlboro, MD; a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, 12:00 noon, in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Timothy L. Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
