Victor Robert Black

Victor Robert Black, 76, of 404 Hetty Hill Street, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018, in his home.

Husband of Pamela Dawkins Black, he was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late Willie and Eliza Pelham Black.

Victor was a 1959 graduate of Granard High School. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church, Mountain View Lodge # 301, and the Senior Citizen’s Center. He was a retired employee of Johns Manville Corporation. Victor was a member of Sunpower Softball team.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mamie Roseboro.

Survving are: his wife, Pamela Black, of Gaffney; 1 son, Michael Black, of Georgia; 3 daughters, Deborah Black-Rice (Jeffery) of Gaffney; Toni B. Johnson, an Alicia M. Watkins, of Gaffney; sister, Willie Huskey, Betty Gibson, of Blacksburg, Doris Bonner , and Margaret Tyson (James) of New York, NY.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday, 12:00 noon, in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Michael A. Bridges officiating.

The family is at 203 Serene Drive.

Angela Lipscomb Brown

Angela Lipscomb Brown, 53, of 208 Young Street, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Gaffney and was a daughter of Clyde and Annie Wilkins Lipscomb.

Angela was a member of Concord Baptist Church and choir.

She was a 1983 graduate of Gaffney High School and an employee of Magnolia Company.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, Brandon Brown (Elisa) of Inman and Anthony Brown of Greenville, SC; two brothers, Kenneth Lipscomb and Donald Lipscomb (Tina) of Gaffney; one sister, Andrea Lipscomb of Gaffney; three grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., in Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Michael A. Bridges officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

She will be in state in the church Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.

Deacon Eddie N. Logan

Deacon Eddie N. Logan, of 87, of 5084 S. Main Street, Cowpens, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018, in Mary Black Hospital, Spartanburg.

Widower of Mazie Roberts Logan, he was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late Carlisle and Minnie Mayberry Logan.

He was a member and deacon of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, a retiree of Spartanburg County School District 3.

Deacon Logan was preceded in death by siblings, Corrie Brackett, B.L., James, and Joe Dean Logan.

Surviving are: his children, Linda Askari of the home, Jack Logan of Greenville, SC, and Phyllis Logan of Cowpens; 6 grandson, Kenny Logan and Matt Logan, of Boiling Springs, Michael Logan (Tonya) of Kentucky, all reared in the home, Eric and Marques Hardy of Spartanburg, Rev. Tevion Deion Logan of Cowpens; 2 brothers, Roy Logan and Francis Logan of Cowpens; 3 sisters, Minnie Clemmons Makupson and Hettie Mitchell of Cowpens, and Sara Brackett of Columbia, SC; 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Monday, 3:30 p.m., in Piney Grove Baptist Church with Dr. C. Dennis Rector officiating. Military Rites and Interment will be in Island Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

He will be in state in the church Monday at 2:30 p.m.
