Gary Lee Armstrong, Sr., 55, of 1431 Swofford Drive, Cowpens, SC, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021, in Spartanburg Medical Center.
Husband of Rebecca Camp Armstrong, he was born, April 12, 1966 in Cherokee County, SC and was a son of the late Watson Armstrong, Sr. and the late Forestine Byers Armstrong.
He was member of Island Creek Baptist Church and a retired employee of Kohler.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a brother, Jonathan Bernard Armstrong.
He leaves to cherish loving memories: wife, Rebecca Camp Armstrong; step-father, Calvin Linder, of Gaffney; two daughters, Asia Cierra Armstrong and Amber Alexis Armstrong, both of Gaffney; a son, Gary Lee Armstrong, Jr., of Boiling Springs, SC; brothers, Watson Armstrong, Jr., of Gaffney, Reverend James Freeman Armstrong, Mark Anthony Armstrong, Ricky Dean Armstrong, James Robert Thompson, all of Cowpens, SC; Daniel Colston, Shane Colston, Calvin Studyvance, Travis Colston, and Calvin Thompson, all of Gaffney; sisters, Evelyn Vernon, of Spartanburg, SC, Minister Linda Kaye Armstrong, of Greenville, Yolanda Evette Armstrong, of Cowpens; Shameka Denise Armstrong, of Gaffney; grandchildren, Zayden Lee Thompson, Ace Santa Greene, Kingston O’Marion Reid and Kashton Prince, Joseph Reid, all of Gaffney, SC; special friend, Victoria Montgomery; uncles, Henry Armstrong (Lorraine), Davis Armstrong (Teresa), both of Cowpens, and Rochelle Byers (Diane), of Fayetteville, SC; sister- in-law, Lois C. Oglesby, of Charlotte, NC, Louise Blanton, of Gaffney, SC; brother-in-law, Howard Camp, of Inman, SC, Roger Camp, and Avery Camp (Ros), of Gaffney; other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, 3:00 p.m., in Island Creek Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Timothy L. Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He will lie in state in the church Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The family is at the home of The Reverend James Armstrong at 2152 Battleground Road, Cowpens.

Technical Sergeant Johnté Jevon Jeter
Technical Sergeant Johnté Jevon Jeter, 38, formerly of Gaffney, passed away Monday, September 27th, at Hills Air Force Base, Utah.
He was born in Gaffney and was the son of Betty Jeter and the late John Foster, Jr.
Johnté was a graduate of Gaffney High School. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Joseph Vanlue; maternal great grandmother, Willie Mae Jeter.
He leaves to cherish loving memories: a son, Alexander Jeter, of Albuquerque, NM; his mother, Betty Jeter, of Gaffney; a brother, Marquis B. Jeter, of Virginia; maternal grandmother, Sarah “Pat” Jeter, of Gaffney; paternal grandfather, John Foster, Sr., (Irene (deceased) of Gaffney; several aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
A Public Viewing will be held Saturday, October 9th and Sunday, October 10th from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in The Gilmore Mortuary. His Mother requests No Pictures be taken, No Exceptions! A Graveside Service with Full Military Rites will be held, Monday, October 11, 2021, 9:30 a.m., in Salisbury National Cemetery; 501 Statesville Boulevard, Salisbury, NC 28144, with Rev. Dr. Timothy L Hunter officiating and The Military Honor Guard from Shaw Air Force Base, Sumter, SC.
Norman Dean Crosby
Norman Dean Crosby, age 60, of 704 Littlejohn Street, passed away from his earthly duties at Cherokee Medical Center to rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He was born on the 23rd of October in the year of 1960, to the late Ulysses Hoey & the late Daisy Helen Crosby Smith.
At an early age he joined Concord Baptist Church. He was last employed at Dollar Tree Distribution. He loved his family and the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather the late Linzsey Smith; grandparents, Mose and Lucille Crosby and Willie & Essie Mae Hoey.
He is survived by a son, Donnie Watkins, of Gaffney; a daughter Ar’Keather Byers of Charlotte, NC; a step daughter, Shantell Morris, of Gaffney; two sisters, Marvette Vandora Ellis and Tina Holmes, both of Gaffney; grandchildren, Dontae Watkins, Tasia Watkins, Aaliyah Watkins, Jamarj Smith, Arkeevis Dukes, Tru Dixon, Evelyn Hunsucker, and a bonus grandchild, Anthony Manning; two aunts, Ruthie Rodgers (Billy) and Nancy Knuckles (Mack), both of Gaffney; one uncle, Fred Smith, of Spartanburg; three great aunts, Janie Mae Famble of Lawndale, NC, Nancy Adams, and Lillian Manning, both of Gaffney; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends and a special niece Minister Stephanie Tate of Gaffney.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 2, 2021, 11:00 a.m., in the Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with The Reverend Dr. Micheal A. Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
