Mrs. Patricia Nevone Houey Manning, 71, of 219 Estelle Rd., passed away Sunday, February 7th, in her residence.
Wife of Julius “J.P.” Manning, Sr., she was born October 11, 1949 in Cherokee County and was a daughter of the late J.D. and Lorene Oglesby Houey.
Patricia was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Nestle Frozen Food Company.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Joe Nathan Houey and Willie Dean Houey; a sister, Sophia McGill Johnson.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: her husband, Julius” J.P.” Manning, Sr., of the home; a daughter, Pulitzer Manning, of Gaffney; two brothers, Emmanuel Houey( the late Helen), of Shelby, NC. and Leonard Houey (the late Ocie), of Gaffney; four sisters, Annie Lorene Houey, of Gaffney, Sandra Houey, of Gaffney, Shelia Byers (the late Edward), of Gaffney, Brenda McLauglin (Alfonzo), of Columbia; a granddaughter, Quiannta Johnson, of Gaffney; two great grandchildren, Zoey Williams and Zachary Thornton; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Public Viewing will be held Thursday, from 10:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Graveside Service will be Friday, February 12, at 1:00 p.m., in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Bridges officiating.

Mrs. Vera Knuckles Williams
Mrs. Vera Knuckles Williams, 79, of 117 Gettys Drive, passed away Monday, February 8th, in Agape Hospice Home, Landrum, SC.
She was born in Gaffney and was a daughter of the late Herbert and Regina Peeler Knuckles.
Vera was a graduate of Granard High School and a retiree of Hoechst Celanese. She was a member of Dunton United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Eugene, Evon, and Joe Dean Knuckles, and a sister, Toledo Littlejohn. She leaves to cherish loving memories: twin daughters, Angela Tate (Boyd), and Tangela Poole (John), of Gaffney; a brother, Charles Knuckles (Cordelia), two sisters, Clynthree Oglesby and Lee Webster, of Gaffney; sister-in-law, Edith Knuckles; four grandchildren, Josh Tate, Jasmine Tate, Cameron Poole, and Chrissy Poole; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public Viewing will be held Tuesday from 3-6:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 10-12:00 noon.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, 1:00 p.m., in Frederick Memorial Gardens with Rev. Calvin Smith officiating.
