Frank Sarratt, Jr.

Frank Sarratt, Jr. 59, of 203 3rd Avenue, Gaffney, passed away Tuesday, July 16th, in Cherokee Medical Center.

He was born July 9, 1960 to the late Frank Sr. and Straucy Byers Sarratt.

Frank was employed as a roofer with Calvin Linder.

He was preceded in death by a brother Maurice Sarratt.

He leaves to cherish loving memories; three daughters, Catina L. Woods, Junneshia Littlejohn, and Dyesha Studyvance; four sons, Bradley Littlejohn, Cory Studyvance, Travis Studyvance, and Eric Studyvance; three brothers, Marvin Camp, Bob Camp, and Terry Sarratt; two sisters, Cardynn Camp and Janice Sarratt; eleven grandchildren; aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Memorial Service will be Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at  2:00 p.m., in the Gilmore Mortuary Chapel.

James William Smith

James William Smith, 39, of 446 Garvin Lake Road, passed away Saturday, June 13, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Gaffney, SC and was a son of the late James Knuckles and Cathy Smith Durrah.

Surviving are: his wife, Teah Turner Coyle; sons, Kashaun and Dominique Smith; step-son, Brett Turner; daughters, Key’Untea Smith and Destiny Marlow; sister, Brenda Knuckles; 2 grandchildren, James and Mallory Smith; uncle, David Talley (Brenda), aunts, Angela Shippy, Annie Littlejohn and Vera Talley ; other relatives and friends.

The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 16th, in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Dr. Timothy L. Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Limestone Cemetery.

Patsy “Tootsie” Elzina Thompson


Ms. Patsy Elzina Thompson, 93, of Chesnee, SC, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 in the Physical Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Spartanburg, SC

She was born on May 19th, 1927, to Leroy and Verlie Cantrell Thompson.

“Tootsie,” as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was a lifelong member of Brooklyn C.M.E. Church. She served faithfully in several capacities, including: pianist, member of the Gospel Choir and Senior Choir. She was employed in her working years as a seamstress for Belk Hudson Department Store.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew reared in her home, Robert. L. Thompson. She leaves to cherish loving memories: nieces and nephews reared in her home; a sister-in-law, Shirley R. Thompson; other relatives and many friends.

The Graveside Service will be on Thursday, June 18th, 11:00 a.m., in Brooklyn C.M.E. Church Cemetery with Dr. Rev. Timothy L. Hunter officiating, followed by interment.
