James Robert ” Nick” Littlejohn

James Robert Littlejohn, 64, of 109 Iris Lane passed away Saturday, September 28, in his home.

Husband of Kathy Allen Littlejohn, he was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late Clayton Mc- Clain and Nell Littlejohn Corry.

He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, a member of Gowdeysville Baptist Church, and an employee of U.P.S. Freight. He attended Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.

Surviving are: his wife, Kathy Littlejohn, of the home; daughters, Lataha Crosby (Bennette), of San Antonio, TX, Latoya Allen of Gaffney, and Dr. Cheynia Allen (Friera Roderica), of Blacksburg; sons, Elton Allen (Sabrina), of Grovetown, GA, Charles Robert Dewberry (Franchessa), of Forest City, NC, and James O. Littlejohn, of Gaffney; step-mother, Ida B. Mc- Clain, of Shelby, NC; step-father, Joe Lewis Corry, of Gaffney; siblings, Mary Littlejohn, Janie McClain, Ida McClain, Gloria McClain, Donnie McClain, and Danny McClain, all of Shelby, Karl Littlejohn, Jonelle Camp, Sheila Pearson (Carey), Martha Crosby, Drusilla Corry, Anita Sullivan, Melinda Leach (Torey), Angel Browning (Chris), all of Gaffney; 11 grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be Monday, 3 p.m., in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with Rev. C.A. Wallace officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He will be in state in the church Monday at 2 p.m.

John Frank Smith, Jr.

John Frank Smith, 66, of 100 Fairfield Drive, passed away Friday, September 27, in The Peachtree Centre of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare Hospice.

He was born in Cherokee County and was a son of Mrs. Lucille McCluney Smith and the late Frank Smith, Jr.

He was a graduate of Gaffney High School and an employee of Core, Inc. He attended Encounter Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by: a daughter, Kianda Smith, of Fountain Inn, SC; fiancé, Jackie Conley Smith, of Gaffney; brothers, Michael Smith, of Charlotte, NC, Joseph Bernard Smith and Calvin Davidson, of Gaffney; sisters, Lorraine Hoey, of Gaffney, Nicole Johnson (Leroy), of Blacksburg, and Tracy Smith Reid (Timothy) of Norfolk, VA; one grandchild, Enrique Smith.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, 2 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Clarence Davis officiating. The family is at the home of Lorraine Hoey, 1110 Elmore Street.

Hattie Jane Lipscomb Wilkins

Hattie Jane Lipscomb Wilkins of 116 Holly Hill Drive, Gaffney, South Carolina, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019, in her home.

Widow of Ralph Bernard Wilkins, she was born in Cherokee County, SC on August 6, 1939 to Choice and Emma Posey Wilkins.

She was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church and a retiree of Limestone Mills.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Carmen Wilkins, and siblings, Elizabeth Gaines,  Choice Lipscomb and Robert Lipscomb, 

Surviving are: a son, Allen Wilkins, of the home; two daughters, Dana Wilkins and Gwendolyn Fernanders (Bryant), of Gaffney;  brothers, John Lipscomb (Cheryl) and Edward Lipscomb (Terri), of Atlanta, GA, Terry Lipscomb (Lisa) of Raleigh, NC, and Jerry Lipscomb (Sarah), of Salisbury, NC; sisters, Louise Smith and Virgia Chappell, both of Atlanta, Betty Terrell of Salisbury; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be Monday, September 22nd, 12 Noon., in the Island Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Tmothy L. Hunter, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
