Fletcher Leach, Jr.

Mr. Fletcher Leach Jr., 66, of 919 Jackson Avenue, Columbia, SC, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018, in his home.

He was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late Fletcher Leach Sr. and Louise Gordon Leach.

He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Francis Leach, Roy D. Leach, Betty Houser, and Mary L. Moore.

Surviving are: his children, Jermaine Pearson (Pamela), Jamie Pearson, Bryant Pearson (Brandie), and Denise Tate; two brothers, Bobby Leach (Eloise) and Rev. Samuel Leach (Elaine); three sisters, Jenelle Holmes (Louis), Linda White, and Peggy Mills all of Gaffney; nine grandchildren; aunts, Valaree Manning and Floree Manning; uncle, Hallie Leach; a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be Thursday 2:00 p.m. in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Samuel Leach, Dr, Michael Bridges, and Rev. Timothy L. Hunter.

The family is at the home of Louis and Jenelle Holmes, 118 Camellia Circle.

Garnell Cofield Smith Oglesby

Mrs. Garnell Cofield Smith Oglesby, 74, of 105 Kennedy Street, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018, in her home.

Widow of Bobby Lee Oglesby, she was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of the late Wilma Smith and Wofford Littlejohn, Jr.

She was a member of Granard High School Class of 1963, Bethel Baptist Church, and the former Starlighters Club.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Mrs. Lessie Davis, Ms. Mamie Littlejohn, Mrs. Frances Smith, Mrs. Janie Gies, Jimmy, James A, Baron, Edward L. and Vadin Calvin Smith, and Wofford Littlejohn, Jr.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: a son, Rickey Smith of Gaffney; step-son, Quintin Petty of Washington, D.C.; three daughters, Ms. Sandra Smith, Mrs. Elizabeth Boyd (Eddie), Mrs. Sharon Jefferies (Quinton), all of Gaffney; four grandchildren raised in the home, Edward Smith, Billy Smith Ricardo Foster, and Tonitra Smith; sisters, Mrs. Rose McNamee, Mrs. Johnese White, Ms. Tangie Littlejohn, Mrs. Corrie Oglesby (Lewis), and Mrs. Mary Knox; four brothers, Alexander Smith (Gloria), Donald Littlejohn (Linda), Joe Quinn Littlejohn, and Stephen Littlejohn; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mamie Oglesby, Mrs. Sarah Reddish (Elijah), Mrs. Perniece Smith, Mrs. Berniece Dawkins (Rev. L.D.), and Mrs. Clynthree Oglesby; brother-in-law, Dennis Oglesby (Sarah) 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, including Bristasia Leach and MyKayla Camp’ 3 greatgrandchildren; a special niece, Minister Cathy Neal (Quentin); other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m., in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with Dr. James Sanders, Jr. and Rev. C.A. Wallace. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

She will be in state in the church Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Heather Renea Sarratt

Heather Renea Sarratt, 27, of 125 Beltline Road, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018, in her home.

She was born in Gaffney and was a daughter of the late Sylvia Sarratt and James Edward Littlejohn.

Heather was a 2009 graduate of Gaffney High School and a member of Antioch Kingdom Building Ministries, and a member of Girls Rock.

Surviving are: her legal guardians, LaRunda Talley Sims and Chad Sims of Spartanburg; a daughter, A’Driana McFadden of Gaffney; two brothers, David Sarratt of Gaffney and Donald Sarratt of Kershaw, SC; two sisters, Lutricia Jeffries (Zavier) and Mary Davis, both of Gaffney.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Alice Littlejohn officiating.

The family is at the home of her aunt and uncle, Brenda And David Talley, 308 Drucilla Drive.
