Artis Dewberry

Artis Dewberry, 66, of Cleveland Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 31, in Cleveland.

He was born in Spartanburg County and was a son of the late Pittman and Elsie Makupson Dewberry.

Survivors are: his wife, Sandra Smoot Dewberry of the home; daughter, Angela Dewberry Sloan of Cleveland; one brother, Charles Dewberry, of Gaffney; a sister, Cynthia Brockman, of Cowpens; 4 grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, 1:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jacob Cleo Hunter, II, officiating. Interment will follow in Gaffney Memorial Park.

The family is at the home of Charles and Bessie, 508 S. Logan Street.

Phillip Elton “Eugene” Robbs

Phillip Elton “Eugene” Robbs, 87, of 100 Fairfield Rd., passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, in his home.

He was born in Gaffney and was a son of the late Azell and Roberta Morris Robbs.

He was a 1949 graduate of Granard High School, and a veteran of the United States Army.

Surviving are: a son, Steven Robbs (Cynthia) of Gaffney; 2 daughters, Brenda Watkins (Johnny) of Shelby, NC and Sheila Miller of Gaffney; two brothers, Zeotha Hameed Robbs of New Jersey and Charles Smith of Gaffney; three sisters, Dr. Carol Robbs- McFadden, LaVerne Smith, and Mozelle Dewberry, all of Gaffney; 7 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 1 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Michael Golden officiating. Interment will be Friday in M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran’s Cemetery, Anderson, SC.

The family is at the home of Eartha and Steven Anderson, 105 Pleasant Meadows Drive and request visiting hours between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Larry Bernard Davis

Larry Bernard “Fish” Davis, 67, of 215 Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. street, passed away, Saturday, May 26th, in his home.

Husband of Mamie Moore Davis, he was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late George and Lessie Smith Davis.

He was, a 1971 Graduate of Granard High School, a member of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church, a veteran of the United States Navy, and former custodian at Granard Middle School and Limestone Middle School.

Surviving are: his wife, Mamie M. Davis of the home; one son, Jerome Fowler of Gaffney; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Thompson (Weldon) and Minister Cathy Neal (Quentin), of Gaffney; one grandchild, Jerecia Charlotte Fowler of Gaffney.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, 3 p.m., in Limestone Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Gaffney Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the home daily from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
