Eddie William Boyd, Sr., 81, of 127 Connecticut Ave., passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018, in his home.
He was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late Rev. Johnny Boyd and Elvira Osborne Boyd.
Eddie was a member of True Holiness Church and All Male Choir. He was a retired employee of Brown’s Packing Company.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Boyd, and a sister, Johnnie Mae Logan.
Surviving are: his children, Eddie Boyd, Jr. of Hendersonville, NC, (Elizabeth); Zaro Boyd and John R. Jamison (Sharon) of Gaffney, David L. Jamison (Norma) of Shelby, NC, Delores Jamison Shippy, Betty Jamison Copeland (Dwayne), all of Gaffney; brother, Roscoe Boyd of Winston- Salem, NC; sisters, Hettie Gaffney of Gaffney, Nell Hoyle of Gastonia, Lillie Fuller of Spartanburg; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 1:00 p.m., in Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Solomon Davis and Dr. Michael A. Bridges. Interment will be in Gaffney Memorial Park.
He will be in state in the church Thursday at noon.
The family is at the home of Elizabeth Boyd, 130 Jolly Drive and at the home of Dorothy Boyd, 106 Concord Heights.
