Bobby Lee Rawlison, Sr.

Bobby Lee Rawlison, Sr., of 207 Martin Hills Rd., Blacksburg, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023, at 116 Kyle Avenue, in Inman, SC.

Husband of Mildred Littlejohn Rawlison, He was a son of the late Mr. Watson Rawlison Sr. and Mrs. Olee Jeffries Rawlison.

Bobby was a 1959 graduate of Granard High School and received a BA degree from Limestone College. He was Veteran in the United States Army, a member and Deacon of New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and a retiree of Celanese Corporation.

He was preceded in death by his son Bobby Rawlison, Jr.; his brothers James, Walter, and John Robert Rawlison and a sister, Dora Corry.

He leaves to cherish loving memories: his wife, Mildred Rawlison, of the home; his daughter, Shelia Graham (Lewis),  of Inman,12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Watson Rawlison (Ruby), of Savannah, Ga.; a sister, Mary Webster (Frank), of Gaffney, SC; two sisters in-law, Ella Mae Kelly, of Pacolet, SC, and Patrica Rawlison, of Newport News, VA; and a brother-in-law, Robert Holmes of Roebuck, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.


Funeral Services with Military Rites will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 12:30 p.m., in New Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Rodgers officiating. Entombment will follow in Fredrick Memorial Gardens.

Julie M. Watkins

Ms. Julie May Watkins, daughter of the late Laura Mae Camp and Paul Watkins, was born in Gaffney, SC on November 12, 1952.

Early in life, she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Suck Creek Baptist Church. She was a faithful member and attended regularly, until her health declined.

She was retired as one of the best cooks at Norman’s Truck Stop.

She departed this life Friday, September 1, 2023, in Paeachtree Centre, Gaffney, SC.

Julie was also preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Shirley Watkins; four siblings, Laura, Robert, Sally, and Paul Watkins.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by her three children, Charlotte Watkins, Scottie (Patricia) Watkins, Marvin (Lisa) Watkins, and her sister, Mary Ann Watkins. Ms. Julie has seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a God-daughter; a host of nieces, nephews, family, and may friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in Suck Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Makupson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at 308 Peachtree Street, Gaffney, SC.

John Maurice Rodgers

John Maurice Rodgers, age 47, of 575 W. Washington Street, Greenville, passed away Thursday, August 31st, in St. Francis Downtown Hospital, Greenville, SC.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, 1:00 p.m., in the Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Debra Williamson officiating.

The family is receiving friends at his aunts home, Shirley Allen, 503 Oakland Ave., Gaffney, SC.
