Alani Naomi Jenkins

Alani Naomi Jenkins, infant daughter of Jamiyah Littlejohn and Jaikwon Jenkins, was born in Spartanburg, SC on December 9, 2022.

She passed away on Tuesday, March 7th, in her home in Gaffney.

Alani was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Ida Mae Foster Harbison. In addition to her parents, she leaves to cherish loving memories: a sister, Londyn Jenkins; a brother, Idean Jenkins; grandparents, Sammerah Robbs, Fred Littlejohn, Crystal Smith Jenkins, Cherika Shepherd and Joshua Jenkins; great-grandparents, Steve Robbs, Cynthia Robbs, Calleen Littlejohn and Rev. Mark Harbinson; aunts, uncles and other relatives.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 14th, 2:00 p.m., in Limestone Missionary Baptist Church with The Rev. Michael L. Golden and Elder Donnie Allen. Interment will follow in Gaffney Memorial Park.

The family is at the home of Stevette and Shonn Tate, 790 Oak Ridge Road, Gaffney.

Victor Ray Hollis

Victor Hollis, 84, of 515 Grambling Ferry Rd., Gaffney, SC, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023, in his home. 

Widower of Nellie Petty Hollis, he was born in Cherokee County, SC to Margaret Hollis and Early Lattimore. He was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Preston Ross.

Victor attended Concord Baptist Church and was a member of Gaffney Bowling League.

He was a family man who loved his wife and children unconditionally. Victor loved outdoor activities, especially fishing.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Wood.

He leaves to cherish loving memories: five sons, Thomas Ray Hollis, James Hollis, Robert Hollis (Tequita), Ronald Hollis, and Nathan Hollis, all of Gaffney; two daughters, Margaret Hollis Lipscomb (Woody), of Gaffney and Dorothy Hollis Littlejohn, of Spartanburg, SC; a brother, Early Lattimore, Jr. (Bobbie), of Gaffney; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Lewis Duckett officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dock Theodore Roosevelt Hopper

Dock Theodore Roosevelt Hopper was born in Cherokee County, SC on February 25, 1968 and was a son of Elizabeth Dillard Hopper and the late Theodore Roosevelt Hopper.

Dock was a graduate of Gaffney High School and Winthrop University. He was a member of Drayton Mills Church of Christ, Spartanburg, SC. He was an employee of Timken Bearing Company in Gaffney. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Hopper.


He passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in Cherokee Medical Center, Gaffney, SC.

Dock leaves to cherish loving memories: his daughter, McKensie Harris, of Greenville, SC; his mother, Elizabeth Hopper, of Gaffney; a sister, Ashley Dawkins Hopper, of Gaffney, a host of aunts; uncles; other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., in Dillard Memorial Gardens with Dr. Robert Davis officiating.
