Dewayne Galmer PictureDewayne “Kunta” Thomas Galmer, 52, of 423 Serene Drive, entered eternal rest on Friday, June 3, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Husband of Arvia Bryant Galmer, he was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late Lathan and Margaret Hull Galmer. He was reared by his aunt, Inez Hull.

He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, an employee of Core Molding Technology, and a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve.

Surviving: his wife, Arvia Galmer of the home; four daughters, Shana Galmer of Gaffney, Penelope Whisonant of Blacksburg, Taneka Galmer and Natasha Bryant, both of the home; one son, Joshua Bryant of the home; five sisters, Wanda Wallace, Laverne Galmer, Terri Hames, Jenny Hames (Willie), and Shirley White (Eugene), all of Blacksburg; four brothers, Larry Hull (Doris) of Washington, D.C., Jerry Galmer of Gaffney, Bryan Galmer (Aurelia) of Shelby, and Willie Edward Hull of Blacksburg; grandchildren, Mishon Logan, reared in the home, Tavarious Galmer, Zion Galmer, Jeriah Earls, Jeriah Thompson, and Zamarion Hopper, all of Gaffney, Egypt, Khina, and R.J.; motherin law, Louise Bryant of Gaffney; fatherin law, Charles Rochelle Jefferies (Gladys) of New Jersey; aunts, Inez Hull and Patricia Hull, both of Blacksburg; sister in-laws, Lisa Simon of New Jersey and Carla Tanner (Billy) of Gaffney.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, 2 p.m., in Limestone Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Golden and Rev. Richard Woods. Interment will be in Gaffney Memorial Park.

The family requests viewing in the Gilmore Mortuary Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and in the church Thursday from 1 p.m. until the hour of services.

The family is at the his home and at the home of his mother-in-law, Louise Bryant, 631 East Junior High Road, and his sister, Laverne Galmer, 204 Greenwood Street, Blacksburg.
