Evangelist Almaree Hardin Elmore, age 90, of 107 Hill Street, Gaffney, passed away Sunday, July 18, in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Widow of John W. “Bus” Elmore, she was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of the late Samuel and Daisy Hardin Weathers.
She was a member of The Divine True Holiness Church of God where she was honored as “Mother of the Church.” She was a retired employee of Stouffer’s, a former employee of Little Moo Restaurant, and Tastee Freeze.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two siblings, Clifton and Winfred Lee Weathers.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: a daughter, Shirley Littlejohn (Chris), of Gaffney; five sons, Johnny Elmore (Rev. Dollie), of Gaffney, Lancaster Elmore (Julia), of the home, Lewis Elmore of Cowpens, Robert Elmore (Deborah) of Enoree, and Bucoe Elmore of Gastonia, NC; a sister, Mrs. Alzenia Lockhart (Overseer Theodore), of Blacksburg; two brothers, Roy Weathers of Blacksburg and Robert Wadell Weathers of Jersey City, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
The Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., in Encounter Church with Reverend Pierre Salmon officiating. Burial will follow in The Divine True Holiness Church of God Cemetery in Blacksburg.
