Lowell Carlton Manning, 85, of 203 Hampton Avenue, passed away Saturday, May 30th, in his home.
Husband of Mattie Harris Lipscomb Manning, he was born in Gaffney and was a son of the late Robert “Bob” Manning and the late Lillie Camp Manning.
He was a member of Dunton United Methodist Church where he served a Father of the Church, member of the Methodist Men, choir, and Steward.
Lowell was a retired truck driver with Overnite Trucking Company.
He was preceded in death by: two sons, George Manning and Jack Lipscomb; five sisters and five brothers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a son, Lowell C. Manning (Melissa), of Florence, SC; five daughters, Linda Manning, of Spartanburg, Lorre Dion Wilkins and Ava L. Dover, both of Gaffney; Lisa Moran, of Richmond, VA, Sandra Smith, of Bayonne, NJ; a brother, Jack Manning, of Greer; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 4th, 1:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Calvin Smith and Rev. Willie Wilson. Attendees are requested to wear a mask and observe social distancing. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery.
