Maggie Rita Hopper Miller, 91, of 1311 Newton St., Shelby, NC, passed away Sunday, April 5th, in White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain, NC.
She was born in Reidsville, South Carolina to the late Mack B. and Annie Sue Anderson Hopper.
She enjoyed cooking, singing, and sewing. She loved her family but most of all she adored her great-grandchildren. From years of wanting to be a nurse, she always took care of her family when they were sick.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Henry Hopper; six brothers, Ernest, Ed, Earl, Mack, Newton, and J.D. Hopper; two sisters, Joanne Palmer, Angelou Russell; two grandsons, Henry Hopper Jr. and Terry Ratchford; two great-granddaughters, Shay Hopper and Andrea Boykins.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: two daughters, Rita Kaye Ratchford and Barbara Black; two brothers, Dean hopper (Venia) and Ray Hopper (Minnie); four sisters, Lois Lockhart (Eugene), Montrose Lilly, Agnes Hopper, and Edna Hamrick; six grandchildren, Jerry Ratchford (Mitcheall), Nataja Boykins (Rev. JQ), Charlene Ratchford, Deidra Blackmon (Russell), Latrice Moore (William), and Ernest Hopper; nineteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a daughter in-law, Sandra Hopper; two sisters in-law, Katherin Hopper and Louise Hopper; a special Goddaughter, Jacinta Watson.
Graveside Service will be Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. in The Divine True Holiness Church of God cemetery, in Blacksburg, SC.
