Michael Eugene Oglesby, 66, of 112 Martin Lane, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010, in Cherokee Medical Center.

Husband of Gwen Fowler Oglesby, he was born in Spartanburg County and was a son of the late Melton “Bub” Oglesby and Martha Wood Oglesby.

He was a 1972 graduate of Gaffney High School, a member and deacon of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Cowpens, and a veteran of the United States Army.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Wyatt Oglesby, John Oglesby, and Kathy Fitzpatrick; a grandson, Chancellor Latimer.

Surviving are: his wife, Gwen Oglesby; children, Eugenia Johnson, Sierra Michael, and Michael Oglesby, II; grandchildren, LaNyia, Alexiaua, Antony, Arreis, Dekaury, and Wyatt; brothers, James Robert Oglesby (Sara), Ulysses Oglesby (Deloris), Rev. Benjamin Oglesby, Kenneth Oglesby, and Terry Oglesby (Shelia); other relatives and friends.

The Funeral Service will be Friday, 3:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Derrick Wood officiating.
