Mrs. Ivy Littlejohn Posey

Mrs. Ivy Littlejohn Posey, 53, of Orange Park, FL, passed away Friday, June 15, in her home.

Wife of Terry Belton Posey, she was born in Gaffney and was the daughter of Mrs. Martha Gibbs Littlejohn and Nathan Dean Littlejohn.

She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and a retired employee of the City of Jacksonville. Ivy was a member of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church in Florida and a former member of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church in Gaffney.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Adrian Littlejohn. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two daughters, Narresa and Tenerria Posey, of Florida; a brother, Nathan Eric Littlejohn, of Gaffney; other relatives and friends.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday, 1:00 p.m., in Limestone Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael A. Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Gaffney Memorial Park. She will be in state in the church Saturday at 12:00 noon.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Gilmore Mortuary. They are also receiving friends at the home of her mother, Mrs. Martha Littlejohn, 1712 W. Buford Street.

    My heart was so sad and heavy to hear of Ivy’s passing! As I struggle with this reality, I’m slowly finding a peace and comfort …knowing that Ivy knew and loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ivy was such a beautiful person, inside and out and the world will truly miss her gentle spirit, kindness and lovely smile!
