Kay Frances Conley, age 76, of 421 S. Johnson Street, Gaffney, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, in her home.

Widow of Governor Conley, Kay was born in Washington, D.C. and was a daughter of the late Prelow and Juanita Means Young.

She was a retiree from Health Care- Nursing Home as a Housekeeper.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Toney Young.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: her daughter, Antonette Young of the home; two brothers, Willie Young, of Orangeburg, SC and Horace Young (Hazel), of Alabama; two sisters, Norma Beam (Gene), of Marion, NC and Geraldine Young , of Gaffney, SC; 3 grandchildren, Toney, Jr., Torean Young, and Marquez Young; 10 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 12:00 noon, in The Gilmore Mortuary, with The Reverend Louis Davis officiating.

Mrs. Tahisha Dawkins Williams (Squirt), 37, of 413 Willow Street, Gaffney, SC, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, in Mary Black Memorial Hospital, Spartanburg, SC. 

Wife of Carlton Williams, she was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of Pattie Dawkins Woods of Moore, SC, and Andrew Ratchford, of Gaffney.

She was a 2002 Graduate of Gaffney High School and an employee of Cherokee County DSN Board.  Tahisha was a member of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church. 

She leaves to cherish loving memories: her husband, Carlton Williams, of the home; mother Pattie Woods (Terry of Blacksburg); father, Andrew Ratchford (Lynn); brothers, Joshua Woods, of Minneapolis, MN; Terry Manning, of Atlanta, GA, and Jacob Brown, Jr., of Spartanburg; sisters, Pamela Dawkins, of Gaffney; Leurica Dawkins, of Statesboro, GA, Shanterri Woods, of Moore, SC; Devina Fernanders, Netria Davidson, of Gaffney; Zarsha Mayhew, of Blacksburg;

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 18^th, 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Missionary Baptist Church with The Reverend Michael Golden and The Reverend Dr. Kerwin Wray.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

Shirley Ann Rankin Darwin Allen, 74, of 804 Chesley Drive, Simpsonville, SC, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021, in McCalls Hospice House, Simpsonville.

Wife of Thomas Allen, she was born in Gaffney, SC and was a daughter of the late Luther A. Rankin and Nettie Messer Rankin Blalock.

She was a Baptist and a retired technician for Alltel Telecommunications.

Surviving are: her husband, Thomas, of the home; son, Ricky Darwin (Sharon), of Inman, SC; daughters, Christine Allen, of Greenville, SC, Anjanette Darwin Harrell, of Mauldin, SC, and April Darwin Levine (David), of Kentucky; brothers, Albert Rankin, of Spartanburg, SC and Daniel Rankin, of Florida; sisters, Paula Douglas (Chip), of FL, and Dolores Pennington (Billy), of Gaffney; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
