Edward “Charlie Boy” Littlejohn

Edward “Charlie Boy” Littlejohn, 63, of 510 Thompson St., passed away Friday, November 3, in Mary Black Health System, Gaffney.

He was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late Edward and Maggie Whittenburg Littlejohn.

He was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and a former employee of the City of Gaffney and United Beef Company.

Surviving are three children, Sherman Austin, Barenda and Talisha Leach, all of Gaffney; two sisters, Ethel Sue Boyd (James) of Greenville, and Tracie Littlejohn (Chris) of Gaffney; aunts, Billie Sue McFadden, Gerutha Sarratt, Louise Simon, and Essie Littlejohn; uncles, Billy Littlejohn (Ann) and A.W. Littlejohn (Wyonna).

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. C.A. Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home of Tracie Littlejohn, 608 Marion Avenue.

Sarah Helen Jones

Sarah Helen Jones was born in Cherokee County, SC on May 25, 1933 to Sam and Mary Russell McGill.

The widow of J.B. Jones, Sarah was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.

She was called to eternity on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill, SC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, Mabel O’Neal, and a brother, Isaac Russell. Left to cherish loving memories are: a daughter, Sharon H. Camp (George); 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017, at 1 p.m. in the Gilmore Mortuary Chapel. She will lie in state from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery in Gaffney, SC.

Sharon Bates Hamilton

Mrs. Sharon Bates Hamilton, 71, of 128 Bates Road, passed away Sunday, October 29, in Gaffney.

Wife of Wade Hamilton, Sr., she was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of the late Jessie and Clora Sizemore Bates.

Sharon was a graduate of Granard High School and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Bates. Surviving are: her husband, Wade, of the home; 2 sons, Wade Hamilton, Jr. of Texas and Timothy Hamilton of Gaffney; a daughter, Charlene Prysock of Gaffney; brother-in-law, Lindbergh Hamilton, Sr. (Ella Mae); sisters-in-law, Faye Littlejohn (Freddie) and Artis Means (Ralph) of Gaffney and Betty Wilkins of Denver, CO; 8 grandchildren, including Savon Dukes, reared in the home as a son; 8 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, 3 p.m., in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Brother Earl Buckson officiating.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Charlene, 116 Bates Road.
