Sonya Renae Valentine-Greene, 44, of 118 Whitetail Way, Cowpens, SC, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 16, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Wife of Geoffrey Greene, she was born in Spartanburg and was a daughter of Katie B. Valentine and the late Lawrence Hughes, Jr.

Sonya attended Word of Deliverance Church and was a manager at Taco Bell in Spartanburg, SC.

Surviving are: her husband Geoffrey Greene of the home; son, Trevon Greene of Spartanburg; 2 daughters, Jelicia Greene of Forest City, NC and Alisha Patterson (Romey) of Morganton, NC; her mother, Katie B. Valentine of Chesnee; one brother, Lawrence Hughes, III (Tammy) of Chesnee; 4 sisters, Alice Morris (Tony) of Gaffney, Delores Dawkins (Henry) of Cowpens, Azilee Hughes of Chesnee and Evette Lattimore of Greensboro,NC; 3 grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 2 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Floree Copeland officiating.

Patrick Rashad Butler

PatrickButlerPatrick Rashad Butler, 27, of 203 Edgewater Drive, Gaffney, entered eternal rest on January 14, in LA County, California. He was the son of Helen Kay Butler of the home and Laurice Sims of Cowpens.

He was a member of Church of Christ, a 2006 graduate of Gaffney High School, and an employee of Commercial Vehicle Group, Kings Mountain, NC.

Also surviving are: five sisters, Nia Cherrelle Dixon (Jason), Ashley Bonner, Carnelia Bonner, Laquisha Bonner all of Gaffney and Michelle Horne (Jeremy) of Greer; a brother, Christopher Bonner of Greenville, SC; grandparents, Nelson and Helen Hughes Butler of Gaffney; aunts, and uncles.

Services will be Wednesday, February 10, 1 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Brother King Littlejohn officiating. Interment will follow in Gaffney Memorial Park.

Dennis Jefferies

Dennis JefferiesDennis Jefferies entered eternal rest on Monday, February 1, 2016, in Magnolia Manor, Inman, SC.

He was born in Gaffney and was a son of S.J. Peeler and the late Ola Mae Jefferies Dawkins. Dennis was raised in by his great-grandparents, Morris and Marie Jefferies.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ola Mae Jefferies Dawkins; grandparents, Lillie Mae Brown, and great grandparents, Morris and Marie Jefferies; two uncles Converse and Rayford Peeler.

He leaves to cherish loving memories: a daughter, Denise Tate; father, S.J. Peeler; two sisters, Shirley Jefferies and Shelia Marie Smith; step-father, William Dawkins; step-mother, Darlene Peeler; fourteen step-siblings, including Cheryl Allen and Frederick Allen (Tressa); aunts, Betty Smith, Minnie Leach, Essie Mae Wilkins Robert), Earnestine Rainey, Louise Edwards, Sally Fenn (James), Elizabeth Davis (Nelson) and Amozene Wood; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 6th at 1 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Darrell W. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Gaffney Memorial Park.
