Susan “Susie” Phillips

21p1.previewSusan “Susie” Phillips, 72, of 107 Avondale Drive, entered eternal rest on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Cherokee County, a daughter of the late J.B. Watkins and Myrtle Phillips Mc- Cluney. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.

Susie was preceded in death by a daughter, Nellie Ann Phillips; siblings, Carolyn Abernathy, Wineva Phillips, Inez McCluney, Doris Phillips, Alfrieda Bonner, Broadus Phillips and Claude Mc- Cluney Jr.

Surviving are three daughters, Thaylia Phillips, Bunny Phillips, both of the home, and Angela Miller (Walter) of Chesnee; three sisters, Kathy Camp, Janet McCluney and Wanda McCluney, all of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Jordan and Latoya Phillips, raised in the home, Shareka Miller, Walter Miller Jr. and Kobe Miller of Chesnee; four aunts, Ezee Watkins of Jamaica, N.Y., Ozee Wood, Louella Quincy, both of Everett, Wash., and Nora Fernanders (James) of Chesnee.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. C.A. Wallace officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She will lie instate from 2-3 p.m.
