Ethel “Lou Girl” Montgomery Webster

Ethel Montgomery Webster, 70, known to many as “Lou Girl”, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020, in Spartanburg Regional Heathcare System.

Widow of Ben Webster, she was born in Gaffney and was a daughter of the late D.B. and Sarah Byers Montgomery,

She was a graduate of Granard High School, a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and a former employee of Duke Power.

Ethel was also predeceased by: siblings, Jimmy “Blow,” Eddie, Edith “Sis,” Rev. Brenda, and Nita.

Surviving are: her daughter, Tenika “Pooh Bear” Webster, (Richard) of Wellford, SC; grandchildren, Audi, Zy’on, Bre’on, and Khloe; a brother, De’Wayne Montgomery (Rev. Ann), of Gaffney; special nieces, Anitra Montgomery McCoy, Shuvette Garrett, Rockey Dawkins, Tabatha Littlejohn, and Brittany Rodgers, other nieces, nephews.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, 12:00 noon, in Gaffney Memorial Park with Rev. James Sanders, Jr., officiating. The family is as the home of her daughter at 14 Simmons Street, Wellford, SC.

Mrs. Betty Louise Galmer Lockhart

Mrs. Betty Louise Galmer Lockhart, 85, of 203 Whitaker Street, Blacksburg, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020, in Cherokee Medical Center.

Wife of William Mitchell Lockhart, Sr, she was a daughter of the late Lathan and Francine Roberts Galmer.

She was a graduate of Granard High School and a retired employee of Wendell Fabrics in Blacksburg.

“Sister Mitch” was a faithful member and missionary of The Divine True Holiness Church of God.

She was preceded in death by a son, Vernon, and four siblings, Helen Lowry, Henry Galmer, Haywood Galmer, and Willie Frances Smith. She leaves to cherish loving memories: her husband of 61 years, William Lockhart, Sr.; a daughter, Martha Lockhart; a son, William Mitchell Lockhart, Jr. (Avery-deceased); grandchildren, Trice Culp (Terrance), William M. Lockhart, III, and Taylor Lockhart; great-grandchildren, Emry and Loren Culp; 5 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.

Graveside Service will be Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at The Divine True Holiness Church of God cemetery with Overseer Theodore Lockhart officiating. Followed by interment. 

Frank Sarratt, Jr.

Frank Sarratt, Jr. 59, of 203 3rd Avenue, Gaffney, passed away Tuesday, July 16th, in Cherokee Medical Center.

He was born July 9, 1960 to the late Frank Sr. and Straucy Byers Sarratt.

Frank was employed as a roofer with Calvin Linder.

He was preceded in death by a brother Maurice Sarratt.

He leaves to cherish loving memories; three daughters, Catina L. Woods, Junneshia Littlejohn, and Dyesha Studyvance; four sons, Bradley Littlejohn, Cory Studyvance, Travis Studyvance, and Eric Studyvance; three brothers, Marvin Camp, Bob Camp, and Terry Sarratt; two sisters, Cardynn Camp and Janice Sarratt; eleven grandchildren; aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Memorial Service will be Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at  2:00 p.m., in the Gilmore Mortuary Chapel.
