Miles Camp, Jr.

Miles Camp, Jr., 97, of 1238 Ellis Ferry Road, Gaffney, SC, peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, in Peak Resources Assisted Living in Cherryville, NC.

He was born on October 7, 1921 and was a son of the late Miles Camp, Sr. and the late Madie Morgan Camp.

He was a member of Mikes Creek Baptist Church and a retiree of Duke Power Company, Salisbury, NC.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Milas Rayford Camp and Lewis Camp. Mr. Camp is survived by his wife, Gelina Jackson Camp of Gaffney; eight daughters, Shirley Rodgers (Bobby Dean) of Gaffney, Ernestine Mayes (J.C.) of Rochester, NY, Frances Mayes (Walter) and Louise Ellis (the late Willie Dean) of Cleveland, OH, Dorothy Dixon (Mark) of NC, Netta Foster (Vincent) of Gaffney, Olishia Gaffney of Duncan, SC and Sandy Dillard of Gaffney; sisters, Geraldine Morris and Eloise Leach (Bobby) of Gaffney, Isabell Tohen of High Point, NC, Tecola Wood of Baltimore, MD, and Ophelia Ettison of Orlando, FL; brothers, Leonard Camp of Cleveland, OH and James Camp of Chicago, IL; daughters-in-law, Lucy Camp of Gaffney and Mary Camp of Cleveland, OH; 27 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, 1:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Bobby Rodgers, Jr. officiating. The family is at the home of Shirley Rodgers, 111 Jasmine Drive.

Mrs. Ivy Littlejohn Posey

Mrs. Ivy Littlejohn Posey, 53, of Orange Park, FL, passed away Friday, June 15, in her home.

Wife of Terry Belton Posey, she was born in Gaffney and was the daughter of Mrs. Martha Gibbs Littlejohn and Nathan Dean Littlejohn.

She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and a retired employee of the City of Jacksonville. Ivy was a member of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church in Florida and a former member of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church in Gaffney.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Adrian Littlejohn. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two daughters, Narresa and Tenerria Posey, of Florida; a brother, Nathan Eric Littlejohn, of Gaffney; other relatives and friends.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday, 1:00 p.m., in Limestone Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael A. Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Gaffney Memorial Park. She will be in state in the church Saturday at 12:00 noon.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Gilmore Mortuary. They are also receiving friends at the home of her mother, Mrs. Martha Littlejohn, 1712 W. Buford Street.

Rev. Nettie M. Camp

The Reverend Nettie M. Camp, 66, of 117 New Street, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018, in Mary Black Health System, Gaffney.
Wife of Willie Dean Camp, Sr. of the home, she was born in Shelby, NC on May 25, 1952 to Whitworth Smith and Ola Roberts Smith.

She was a former employee of Brookview Nursing Home and a former member of Mikes Creek and Youngs Grove Baptist Churches. She was presently a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: husband, Willie Dean Camp, Sr.,of the home; 3 sons, Rev. Johnny McCluney (Genetta) of Gaffney, Rev. Jason McCluney (Sherrie) of Shelby, and Justin McCluney (Valerie) of Gaffney; 3 brothers, Horace Smith (Priscilla) and John Smith (Shirley) of Gaffney, Eddie Smith (Wanda) of Spartanburg; 2 sisters, Rev. Modestine Manning (James) of Cliffside, NC and Rev. Frances Wilkie of Gaffney; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be Monday, 1:00 p.m., in Youngs Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Brooks officiating and Rev. Freddy Davidson, eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She will be in state in the church Monday at 12:00 noon.

The family is at her home on New Street and at the home of Rev. Johnny and Genetta McCluney, 1958 Twin Bridge Road.
