Paul Lawrence Jefferies

Paul Lawrence Jefferies, 62, of 601 W. Rutledge Ave., passed away Wednesday, March 3rd, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Husband of Vanessa Harris Jefferies, he was born in Gaffney and was a son of the late Frank and Lessie Graham Jefferies.

Paul was a graduate of Gaffney High School and furthered his education at Benedict College, Columbia, SC.  He was a member of Dunton United Methodist Church and retired  fromNestle as Maintenance Supervisor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jarvis, and siblings, Eric, Dwight, Sarah, Helena, and Catherine.  

He leaves to cherish loving memories:  his wife, Vanessa, of the home; two daughters, Alexis Jefferies and Laquesha Wilkins (Marcus, Sr.), of Charlotte, NC; six brothers, Shelley Jefferies (Anita), of Gaffney, Gregory Jefferies (Teresa), of Gaffney, James Franklin Jefferies, Jr. (Virginia), Donnie Graham (Roslyn), of Gaffney, Quintin Jefferies, of New Jersey, and Anthony Jefferies, of Texas; two sisters, Andra Kaye Akridge and Wanda Jefferies, of New Jersey; other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 12, 2021, 3:00 p.m., at The Gilmore Mortuary.

Rubin Junior Littlejohn


Rubin Junior Littlejohn, 
56, of 400 Walker Ave., Chesnee, SC., passed away Friday, February 26, 2021, in his home. 

Widower of Angela Corry Littlejohn, he was born in Cherokee County and was a son of the late Raymond Norris and Brenda Littlejohn Duncan.  He was reared in the home of his grandparents, the late Rochelle and Minnie Littlejohn.

Rubin was member of Suck Creek Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish loving memories: a son, Rubin M. Littlejohn; a daughter, Talisha Littlejohn, both of Lawndale, NC;god-daughter, Malayah McKinney, of Chesnee, SC; a brother, Paul A. Gardner (Sheila), of Chesnee; sisters, Tarsha Phillips (Randall), and Sherry Reid, of Gaffney, Erica Miller and NickieMosley, of Chesnee; four grandchildren, Armani and AsantiLittlejohn, Tylayjah and Jorian Ussery; uncle, Willie Littlejohn, of Gaffney; sister-in-law, Coretta Robinson (Brian), of Gaffney; a host of other relatives and friends.

Public Viewing will be held Friday from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held, Saturday, March 6th, 1:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Tony Macomson officiating. Interment will follow in Suck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home of Tarsha and Randall Phillips, 114 Pleasant Meadows, Drive.

Sherman G. Dunmore, Jr.

Almighty God in his wise providence has called Sherman Giles Dunmore, Jr. to his eternal rest on Monday, February 22, 2021, at his home in Blacksburg, South Carolina.

Sherman G. Dunmore, Jr. was born September 11, 1983, to The Reverend Sherman Giles Dunmore, Sr. and Dr. Sharon Vinson Dunmore in St. Louis, Missouri.

Sherman began his Christian journey as an infant at Blackwell Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in St. Louis, Mo. Throughout his walk in faith, he traveled extensively throughout the country and became Vice President of the Young People’s Congress, Western New York Conference, A.M.E. Zion Church. Due to his courageous leadership, and genuine personality he would later become President of The Young People’s Congress. He also served as a Bud of Promise, which is a prominent missionary society for children. He also served as a choir member, usher, Secretary of Sunday School, and a member of the People’s A.M.E Zion Church male Step Team.

Sherman G. Dunmore, Jr. graduated from Nottingham High School, in Syracuse, New York, and completed two years of college at the State University of New York at Morrisville. He is a lover of basketball, cooking, construction, creative art, decorating, and music. As an adolescent, he had apassion for creative writing and drawing which he carried throughout high school and adulthood.

Sherman G. Dunmore, Jr’s memory will forever remain alive: in the hearts of his parents, The Reverend Sherman G. Dunmore, Sr. and Dr. Sharon Vinson Dunmore, of Gaffney, South Carolina; his twin daughters, Kayla and Kyra Dunmore, and their mother, Tiffany Britt Dancy, of Syracuse, NY; three brothers, Robert Lee Dunmore of Charlotte, NC, John Wesley Stormy Dunmore (Mrs. Myriam D. Dunmore) of Washington, D.C., Immanuel Huitt Dunmore of Gaffney, S.C., his grandfather, UlycessDunmore, Sr. of Andrews, SC; aunts, uncles, and twonephews, R.J. and Kali Dunmore (sons of Robert) of Forest City, N.C., companion of many years, Shelly Smith, and a host of cousins, great aunts, and friends.

The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, March 2nd, 2:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with his father officiating.
