Nancy Ann Crosby

Nancy CrosbyNancy Ann Crosby, 74, of 112 Martin Lane, entered eternal rest Tuesday, October 4, 2016, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Gaffney and was a daughter of the late James and Sylvelia Butler Crosby.

Nancy was a 1960 graduate of Granard High School and received a B.S. Degree from University of South Carolina Upstate.

She was previously employed at Hoechst Fibers and Nestle Corporation. Nancy was of the Catholic Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Crosby and Gary Crosby.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: four brothers, C.S.M Willie Crosby, U.S. Army Retired (Annie Grace), Thomas Crosby (Inez) of Temple Hills, Md., Gordon Crosby (Dorothy) of Wellford, S.C., and Vincent Crosby (Jane) of Gaffney; four sisters, Laura Crosby of Gaffney, Elaine White of Spartanburg, Carrie Foster (Eddie, Sr.) and Judy Horton Belcher (Irving Ratchford) of Gaffney; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be Friday, 11 a.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Reverend McCafferty officiating. Interment will follow in Gaffney Memorial Park.

The family is at the home of Judy Horton- Belcher, 609 Hetty Hill St.

James Reginald Bonner

james-reginald-bonnerJames Reginald “Backbone” Bonner, 55, of 504 Railroad Avenue, entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 29, 2016, in Mary Black Hospital- Gaffney.

Husband of Doris Black Bonner, he was born in Gaffney and was a son of the late Booker T. Bonner, Sr., and the late Jo Ann Petty Bonner.

James was a 1979 graduate of Gaffney High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church and a member of Limestone Masonic Lodge #117.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Barbara Bonner and Booker T. Bonner, Jr.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: two daughters, Dianca McCluney of Charlotte, N.C. and Shunda Lockhart of Blacksburg; 2 brothers, Larry Bonner of Blacksburg and Millard Bonner (Pat) of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 5 sisters, Sherrill Smith (Kenny), Patsy Bonner, Sallie Bibb, and Fannie Bonner, all of Gaffney, Karen Hooker of Killeen, Texas; uncle and aunt, Sammy and Lenora Weeks of Gaffney; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 2 p.m., in Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Laveria Wynn officiating. Interment will be Thursday, October 6th at 11 a.m., in M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran’s Cemetery, Anderson, S.C. He will be in state in the church Wednesday at 1p.m.

Evy Inez Hull

photo_003326_337570_1_26p1-preview_20160923-jpgxEvy Inez Hull, 78 of 252 Brugg St., Blacksburg, transitioned from earth to eternity on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, in Testa Family Hospice Home, Kings Mountain, N.C.

She was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of the late John and Geneva Ross Hull. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Inez was preceded in death by siblings, Roy, Les, Sylvester, Cecil, Jimmy, Margaret Ruth Galmer, and Louise Meeks; and a granddaughter, Shuntia White.

Surviving are: 1 son, Willie E. Hull of the home; 2 daughters, Jeanette Hames (Willie) and Shirley White (Eugene), all of Blacksburg; 1 sister, Gladys Hall of Shelby; 6 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; 6 greatgreat grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Monday, 2 p.m., in St. Peter Baptist Church, 116 Poplar Drive, Grover, N.C. with Rev. Lewis Duckett officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She will be in state in the church Monday at 1 p.m.
